Jovan Belcher is his name and he killed his girlfriend before taking his own life.

The link says he killed his GF first, but I saw his name reported elsewhere.

Is there a homicide prevention hotline?
crazy @$$ $h!+
unbelievable....

My son and I are headed the short way up to KC this afternoon to catch Deangelo and the Panthers tomorrow vs. the Chiefs.

They may not even play the game. Terrible news. Prayers go out to those affected. Apparently the player's mom witnessed the incident.

That's horrible. I read where he may have done it in front of some staff members as well. This guy only killed himself because he didn't want to spend the rest of his life behind bars, IMO.

I've had suicide attempts happen to people close to me. There just is something different about the way they tick.

I'm not necessarily saying that you are wrong, but his brain may have just been wired completely different and all sorts of chemical issues. He could have been off balance or on some sort of anti depressants that altered his thinking.

Thought you were being a smart ass.
Just begs the question would he have killed himself had he never murdered his gf? Maybe he has a history of mental illness. Wasn't trying to be a smart ass.
How old is the Tiger (Dontari Poe) the Chiefs drafted last draft? Before Jovan Belcher was named, I feared it was the Tiger. 22 years old.

It's really sad and I really feel for the families, especially the girlfriend's.

No, I meant that cause of the "homicide hotline" comment.

He may or may not have a history, I don't know...but then again you normally don't find out someone has issues until they attempt. That is why they say it is a "cry for help". Sadly in this situation his attempt was a success.

He may have been bipolar and snapped...killing his GF and in part fear (of jail) and depression (from all sorts of ish) killed himself.

I don't know of course but I could see that being the case.

Or, more likely, repeative concussive brain trauma.
panthers were told to still travel to KC.

I was thinking this could be another cause.
