Seriously? I know things have changed a bit, but really a college supported BDSM club seems just a bit beyond its academic mission. What say you? All I know is they didn't have one at WMU when I was there. Bummer.

Quote:It "resources to students who are interested in or curious about BDSM" and demonstrations that "give students an opportunity to learn from experienced members of the BDSM community about safely practicing kink."

Wonder if there's an adult Ed version?
Apparently I shoulda taken the offer to attend Harvard on a half scholarship.
Then you would have taken 15 years.

And what's wrong with that? :)
Just sayin...

Belushi's "7 years of college down the drain" sure is outdated huh?
Too true.
Knowing people that are into some of that, I will say that there is a lot that can go wrong if you don't know what you are doing. As long as the meetings are to share knowledge and experience that can prevent accidents and aren't play time I have little issue with it, what consenting adults do behind closed doors is solely the business of those involved.

Also I need to point out the line of "a club where you might, in fact, use a club" is wrong, clubs are not used whips, crops, belts, and similar are much better.
Whip me, beat me, make me write bad checks......

Do they go hand in hand?

I don't care what consenting adults do either, not sure about a club on campus. I'm socially liberal, but need to think about this a bit.
just do what Liberty did when someone started a Democratic student club on campus... they just made it so none of the clubs on campus are approved by the school.
This is way toooooo extreme and an insult to academics.

Maybe I'm too conservative.

Be consistant on how you apply the rules. Just another alternative lifestyle.

Would you be against a beastiality club where they give tips on running train on a cocker spaniel? 04-cheers

This could lead to safer practices. 03-cloud9

Why are you a such a bigot?

Christy Brinkley could get me to go down that road in the day.

The key phrase is "consenting adults", in rape laws there is a line about informed consent. BDSM includes similar precautions, the submisive knows what will be happening, limits are placed on the dominate partner and a safe word established that can be enounciated around a gag if one will be used.

Including animals is a whole different level: they cannot be informed, nor give consent. And before someone brings it up, the same applies to children: they lack the mental capacity to understand what will happen to them.
