I've been accused of being negative on here in the past, and it's an easy trap to fall into when you're among fans (not trying to put a positive spin on things for public consumption).
Objectively, the situation around UC athletics sucks: the money situation isn't great, the coaching situation and the conference affiliation woes are worse.
But, as supporters of UC, our response doesn't have to suck as well.
My season ticket group is adding another person that we've recruited for the 2013 football season. That's 1 more fan at Nippert next fall. Does that mean anything? Probably not, but it's a start.
It's time for a culture change among the fans.
You want to see Nippert full on Saturdays? The time is *now* to talk up the value of season tickets with friends. Encourage people to put aside Christmas gift money they get for tickets to join your group too.
You want to see better coverage of UC in the paper? Comment on the stories that are published -- call out the author for being negative if you want, or just start general chatter on the posting.
You want more coverage of UC on the radio? Call into the shows to talk UC football or basketball.
It's time for the fanbase to get vocal and get proud of the accomplishments of the school on the field. The ACC just publicly told UC to shove off. It's high time, as a group, we stopped waiting for people to pay attention to us and started demanding more attention.
