Call me crazy, but I have always believed in the vision of a national conference operating out of major markets.

With the programs in place - and a solid TV contract - I believe there's great potential for the BIG EAST 3.0. In FB, having Boise, ECU, SDSU, Houston, Cincy, and others; there's proven track record of success.

In Hoops, you're still a premier big city league.

Hopefully the ACC will batten down the hatches, preventing further immediate defections (much the same way the BIG XII has). If they can effectively do this - and I'm skeptical - then maybe we can have a few years of relative calm.
It's still alive. Weakened a bit, and maybe more with future moves, but there's no better place for those of us without offers and it can definitely make us all more money than we were getting before.
What you said has very good points and merits. And I hope for Houston's sake it's true.

But hope will be broken once B1G waves its magical wand.

And I've seen / heard several rumors, here and elsewhere, that they are getting ready to do just that. If the rumors are true, the world of college conference athletics will be crazy for a while. No idea what happens after that.
How apropos that Rutgers and Louisville lost last weekend.

Count me as one that believes our football will be just fine. Hated losing UL in Hoops but I'd rather keep UCONN. Rutgers doesn't move my needle in basketball anyway.
It's not hard for us newbies to receive more money than we did in the conferences we left.

I believe in Aresco's credentials. He's going for big markets because he believes that will get us the most money.

Here's hoping he's right.

As long as they manage to wait until we get a GOT DAMN TV DEAL, I don't really care anymore.

Thankfully, there is still meat on the MWC bone.
It was Meatball's vision, actually. A true best of the rest in big markets is indeed a good model
Guess the proof will be if Western teams are actually saying NO like has been reported or if any are added.

He didn't worry about the #6, #36, #40 and #55 media markets when he added Tulane(#51 media market). I like the guy personally, but I'm starting to think he doesn't sheit about college football.
Makes you wonder huh

He was replacing UL and Rutgers. It makes sense that he'd want to bolster the inventory in the Central-to-East.. Besides, New Orleans is a sexy destination.

Not only is NOLA a sexy destination but don't forget about the Sugar Bowl, the New Orleans blow and the Superdome being here - There is huge upside with Tulane and Nola ... AND its in the heart of SEC Country!

Las Vegas is a "sexy destination" too, but if he adds UNLV FB only, then this conference will never smell a playoff spot. Ever.
Who does Boise want to add? That is really the questions. We need to keep Boise on board and add whoever helps keep the western component and especially Boise happy.
The Sugar bowl has 0 to do with Tulane.........and the fact it is in the heart of SEC country tells me not many eyeballs will be watching them. I wish tulane the best in this new conf however I want BSU out.

How? You talking statements to the media? Because you know we don't have voting rights until July, 2013 right?
