...and assuming that in 2013 UL is dropped into UMD's spot in the Atlantic, does this basically mean that the Atlantic will end up playing 8 conf games while the Coastal goes to 9 for 2013? I'm guessing that with 1 less conf game for the Atlantic div right now, that the simplest fix would be to have the remaining Atlantic schools play an extra game with the Coastals to get the 8th game. I know the math doesn't work out and that one school from the Coastal won't pair up with anyone from the Atlantic. What does everyone else think?
they already scrapped the 9 game schedule after adding N.Dame partial schedule
Isn't Maryland staying one more year?

If the ACC does have a year with 13 teams, they could do this - uneven divisions

True, but if the Atlantic div only has 6 teams while the Coastal has 7, and the schedule was set up for 8 conf games, then parts of the coastal div is fine while all of the Atlantic and those coastal schools that are scheduled to play UMD will be short 1 conf game at 7.

Yep. I thought they were leaving in 2013. Oops.
Notre Dame hasn't set a timetable yet for its move - though I fully expect them in 2014, they may stick around until 2015 for their Catholic brothers and sisters saying they do not want to damage the Big East.
