I expect that your academic standing will improve once you get into the ACC. Right or wrong, the ranking systems take things like this into account.

Louisville's academic ranking will jump a atleast 30 spots within 5 years of joining the conference IMO

Don't think one year's data tells us an awful lot. But I'm glad it appears as though our AD is gearing the spending to be upper third in the ACC. Of course, amount spent doesn't necessarily translate to results on the field.

This is from a different thread and it doesn't include UL, but it does include the rest of the ACC (sans ND), and it is football-specific. It would be interesting to see where UL football fall son this list. It would also be interesting to see the info for this year. I can't wait until next year's info comes out, but I bet SU takes another jump. This has been an exciting year for Syracuse so far.

Women's basketball produced nearly a million last year however its expenses were over three million.

That and all UL Baseball games are free. Jurich has called that his "gift to the fans". I think Men's Soccer might produce some revenue once our new stadium is complete as it's supposed to have the largest capacity in the country.

Women's basektball makes some decent money. It probably generates more than it shows on the bottom line because I beleive all suite revenue and concenssion revenue from the women's games are wrapped in with the men's. The women's games actually averaged almost 11,000 fans per game last year. Note that it is more than Virginia, Florida, West Virginia, Duke, Oklahoma St, Pittsburgh, Villanova, Wake Forest, and Florida state's mens' teams, among others.

Most of the other sports are free to get into, but draw some good crowds, especially when they have dollar beer night (and most of the sports outside fo football and mens and women's basketball have it at some point).

I've heard a BUNCH of UK fans complain that UL fudges its basketball numbers to make UL the most profitable team. Is combining women's concessions ans suite revenue how they do it? Or, are the UK fans full of @#$%?

UK fans are full of it. Something to remember about the state of KY is that there are only three metropolitan areas Louisville, Lexington, and NKY (southern Cincy). Louisville is about 3 or four times bigger than Lexington so the majority of the states urban/suburban population supports Louisville. So while UK has far far more fans than Louisville these are mostly poorer rural fans who do not contribute much to UK beyond owning a weeks worth of tee shirt sales.

Louisville on the other hand has positioned itself (and monetized itself) to be the "Pro" team of the city in both football and basketball. They get all the city's major sponsor agreements and plenty of corporate support.

UK doesn't even have luxury boxes in Rupp arena, nor does the city of Lexington or the rural part of the state have the means to fund UK in the same manner as Louisville supports UofL. This is why Louisville out paces UK in revenue.
