And here is the smoke (off of the realignment board).

Tulsa, start packing.

It may or may not be Louisville, but the ACC presidents are on a conference call in the morning. They will select at least one from Louisville, Uconn, Cincy. There should be at least one vacancy in the nBE by lunch.

Let it be UConn. The BE isn't as appealing as it once was obviously and the biggest draw for me personally is that we get to play old conference mates again. If that goes out the window (a decent possibility) then we better bring in some more (looking at you USM). I don't care about "moving up" if that even applies any more. I just want ECU to play some of the old, or not so old, gang. The best part of CFB is when teams with a lot of history play each other. Seems like in many cases expansion is ruining that.
Louisville is gone. UConn will be gone very soon as well.
I would see them adding Louisville because currently all sports are good and it would be preemptive strike to keep Big 12 from grabbing them. They could probably get Uconn or Cincy later if they take Louisville first. Just a guess.
Maybe it's just me but what is the Big 12 thinking here. Their options are starting to shrink as far as adding two schools. IMO they will eventually add two of either Louisville, Cincinnati or BYU. But if they let the ACC get Louisville and/or Cincinnati and/or UConn then I don't know where they look to expand. They will not stay at ten schools while everyone else is going to 14 or 16.
ACC needs to go ahead and take all 3 schools (UCONN, Louisville, and Cincy)

I think this meeting is strictly about Louisville. Once Louisville commits then I think the ACC goes after UCONN and one of either Navy or Cincy and probably Georgetown.

But I agree....Options for the Big 12 are fading fast with the exception of maybe BYU or Air Force.

Not just you. That was my first thought, too.

You would have to think this forces the Big 12 to finally play their hand.

I can't imagine that Louisville would turn the ACC down for what is still simply a potential offer from the Big 12.

You would have to think this forces the Big 12 to finally play their hand. But it seems like all is quiet in Dallas.

Did you happen to think that there was a reason BYU and Air Force turned down the Big East?.....
Unless Big 12 makes preemptive strike themselves by scooping Louisville and Cincy, leaving UCONN for ACC. Tick, Tick, Tick.
Big 12 doesn't want to expand. They've gone on record saying that over and over and over.....
True, but the be starting to feel the pressure. I doubt UT/OU are, but the rest of the conference has to be sweating bullets. UT/OU can always go somewhere and be fine, the others can't.

BYU: TV Money

As for Air Force and the rest of the MWC schools, I have a hunch that none of them will accept a BE invite.

I may be giving them too much credit, but I think they realize that Boise and SDSU won't go without at least two of them. They believe, and I agree, that a MWC with Boise still in it--and maybe SMU and Houston--is a better conference than the Big East.
Big XII doesn't want to expand because of their tv package. It doesn't come back up for renewal for a while, so if they add more teams, the current teams get less money.

There are a lot of solid MWC schools for the Big 12 (and PAC 12) schools to take, it doesn't have gto be the nBE. In fact, the MWC could well be ruined and just because there hasn't been much movement out West yet doesn't mean there won't be. There will be a moment of truth where either Texas, OK et al move to the PAC 12 or the PAC 12 is forced to go what they think is beneath themselves and scrap from the MWC.
Louisville is gone, but the way the ACC is holding their nose about even adding them makes it clear they don't really want to get to 16. I think the model for them didn't change they aren't going to 16 without ND. The big key to watch is the suit filed in North Carolina by the ACC against Maryland yesterday. If the ACC can enforce all 50 million of their exit fee then the ACC may stabilize. If they can't enforce it then the ACC is in trouble.

I think Big 12 is waiting to see how the Maryland exit fee situation play out. If Maryland leave for less than the full $50M then the B12 will make an overture to FSU.
Okay you smart realignment posters, why do you believe the Big 12 options for potentially inviting teams are becoming limited?

The ACC would be in trouble how?
