I only ask this question as a fan of a school that has had gotten crap for branding before, being a "directional" school.

Why hasn't Fresno State--- or any other school from the Cal State system for that matter--- adopted the name "California State" for their sports programs. Charlotte has done a similar rebanding, dropping the "UNC" from the name of their sports programs.

Just curious.

The headquarters for the CSUs are in Long Beach, SJSU is the oldest, I believe. So if anyone it would be them getting the Cal St. tag. Followed by the over our dead body by SDSU and Fresno.
