There is a strong push to have the stadium expansion moved forward with hopes of debuting in the BE at 60,000 full.

I guess it's possible but I'd be pretty shocked if we rushed that out there.

Being pushed for, not a done deal..... they want to build on the excitement

You guys do realize that you are going to be playing the exact same teams from C-USA 1.0 .......right? LOL

I will say that I am looking forward to finding my way up to ECU again....and partaking of that great eastern carolina style BBQ. Simply the best 'Q in the world.

We average 45-50,000 with a weak CUSA schedule now. I think we'll be okay now that we have access to better bowls/media coverage.
Big mistake if we do. Spend the money on basketball.
Whoa, whoa, whoa there!

Don't get too trigger happy Black Beard . . . this dance isn't over yet, the Big East may look exactly like the conference you're currently in, that will not warrant a stadium expansion.

Spend those dollars on more research, more candy machines in the student union, a university operated bar or two, bike paths, etc.

In fact, UH should hold off on its new stadium as well, could be premature.

We wouldn't be building that to be competitive with the Big East, we will probably be able to remain kings of attendance smack here. We would build it to better ourselves.

Well It's actually a triple-wide, well 3 of them stacked on top of each other.

In any case this won't happen till we are in the BE and 2016 at the earliest, possiblely start at the end of the 2014 season, get the pressbox functional and finish between the 2015 and 2016 seasons, much like what TCU did with there stadium.
We should just get a new press box. 50K is good enough because it creates demand and unless Louisville and Uconn stay I doubt we would fill up 60K

If we do the press box/luxury suites.. might as well get another upper deck at the same time. The Murphy Center will have to stick around until that SEC invite comes 03-shhhh.
While we'll be facing some of the same foes, I think there still will be some added demand.

First of all, Cincy and Louisville have much better reputations than they did when they last played in Greenville. That is, of course, assuming those two are still in the BIG EAST in 2014. The Skip Holtz factor and the bad taste from the Papa John's bowl could make USF a bigger draw as well. If we are lucky enough to get a Boise on the schedule, that would help too.

Also, keep in mind that we'll have a home game with UNC that season and in 2015 home games vs VT and South Carolina.

this.
USF will fire Holtz before we get in & Louisville is going to the ACC

I think the momentum of getting the conference upgrade (even if more in name that actual teams) plus our finally getting back on track on the field could make for a really big year of season tickets next year, and then even bigger year 1 of the Big East and with UNC on the home schedule. I expect within the next decade we'll be at 60k, maybe by 2016.

Out of the mouth of TH. You don't wait to outgrow capacity...you anticipate it. Look for us to move next year with another capital campaign for expansion. I am ready to donate tonight.

You better believe they know peoples pocket books opened tonight, but the next expansion will be paid for using state funds tied to academic purpose facilities enclosed in the tower/suites/deck complex

We (ECU) have BYU on the schedule in the future too along with some other prominent regional teams. There will be many times we could cap out at 60K in the future.
