I'm not going to cite my sources, but if what I hear is true about the ACC being raided (along the lines of 5 schools leaving soon, on top of Maryland), I don't see anyone going there...

For better or worse, I think you can remove any 5 schools + Maryland from the ACC and any of us would still go.

Sooo If, say, FSU GT UNC VT and VA are all gone, that leaves a crippled Miami, Cuse, Pitt, Wake Forest, BC, Duke, and NC State. Would you take that over this lineup?
Aye, the entire Red half of the conference you listed could end up in the ACC (though a couple may still end up in the B12) before it's all said and done.

1. UConn/Louisville
3. Cincy
4. USF/UCF
6. Memphis/Temple
7. Ummm...ECU

I wouldn't take anything but I think my school would. I think yours would as well.

Anyway, if your sources are correct then why are we adding schools now? Why wouldn't we wait it out then recruit the leftovers much like the old BE/B12 rumors when the Texoma 4 were supposedly heading west?

Do you really want anyone to answer that? Any school with an invite would still leave for that.

Duke and NC State may be gone as well. We could very well be looking at the annihilation of the ACC.

If you add Tulsa and Fresno in the West, You could let SMU and Houston Play olympics with them and and they could form their own western conference but football stay under the BE banner.

In my opinion, we may end up with something like this. Obviously, we are going to gain and lose schools based on what other conferences do. We may end up having an east league and a west league that does not play any cross over games. We may end up with with a league that only shares a football championship game. Some of the schools may be different.
I just hate it for Marshall and Southern Miss. Southern Miss is very strong in basketball, football, & baseball. Marshall is going to be really good next season with Cato at QB... going to have a top 10 offense potentially.

I think you are more likely to end up Tulsa and Northern Illinois than Air Force and Nevada or Wyoming. Of course, we're still going to lose 2-5 teams...

While I agree with your sentiment about Marshall and Southern Miss, the USM "strong basketball" statement may need some revision. Southern Miss basketball is not on the level of Memphis basketball. Memphis is on the level of many Big East schools.

I am sorry I have to keep chiming in about Northern Illinois. NIU has little support in Dekalb (IL). They barely average 15K fans for football and play in a empty basketball arena.

While I would selfishly love to have teams I follow play near my home, it isn't going to happen.

Tulsa or UTEP or UNLV or... could happen depending on what happens to other schools.
woe is us, etc, the end forever, and so on

(I'm really looking forward to this league.)

Have you been to Tulane?

I'm okay with UTEP, but the market isn't great. It is hard to see what these conference decision makers are looking for. Too many inconsistancies.

My response is that Tulane is in New Orleans. NIU is about 75 miles outside Chicago/O'Hare (Like Raleigh to ECU). I do love NIU and have been to a number of games. What they really need is a better athletic department focused on developing local fans. And where are the NIU alumni? NIU is a big school!

First off Navy is rumored to be in talks to ACC, at least one of the old BE teams will be leaving going to ACC and possibly more? So with the Old BE teams wanting to get the hell out of dodge, Navy rumor, and with SDSU and BSU looking around for a landing space. I serious doubt and would be willing to bet that Fresno State would refuse an invite. I would bet that any and all MWC teams would refuse.
