Look, I understand the Tulane addition. It does bring them into the New Orleans market. I also get the ECU football only addition, brings in a solid football program.

What I don't get is why ECU is not an all-sports invite since they are on the east coast, this wouldn't be far traveling for their other sports teams.

Being from New Orleans originally, I love Tulane but this makes no sense right now as far as trying to land a good TV contract. They just aren't a big name.

Think about the added expenses of travel for the all sports teams now on the east coast that they are having to travel to Houston, Dallas, and New Orleans on a regular basis. If the Big East was getting the TV money that they could have gotten a couple years back, this would have been no big deal but now their deal is not going to be so great. Is it going to be more than C-USA/MWC? Yes, by a lot, but I'm not sure its all economically feasible to be adding teams for all sports too far out of their blueprint.

What's funny about all of this is I went to a University of Wyoming fundraiser this past weekend and the AD was talking about more realignment coming and how the MWC was trying to position themselves for the future. Afterwards in more of a informal setting he was talking about certain moves that they were predicting to fall, and he did mention the Tulane move and the ECU football only. I was going to post it even though I didn't think it was coming, but I figured I would get laughed right out of this forum. Now I'm looking at what he was saying that night and it all does make sense. Expect a few more surprises along the way.

Can't wait for those Tulane-Providence BB games!!!!!!! lol
Why not share some of those surprises?
