Is Duke really the #5 team in the ACC? Good grief.

Can Ryan Fletcher come back to quarterback this game?

7-5 NC State to the Orlando Bowl. Georgia Tech is what, 6-6 and playing the ACC Championship game.
Damn i dont want Duke...good team but name-wise that sucks

Man. That confernece has collapsed big-time. UC could go in there and compete at the top of that league right away.

No doubt about that.

But it is a 'Big 5' conference team, according to ESPN. 04-jawdrop
I agree with the comments about Duke. I would rather go down another bowl to the Pinstripe and play WVU. That being said, I would be concerned about the Pinstripe picking Pitt over us so they can have a Backyard Brawl in the Big Apple.
I am still not convinced that if Rutgers beats Louisville and drops them to #4 in the conference, that UC won't slip into the Russell Athletic Bowl.

RussellAthleticBowl ‏@RussellAthBowl

BE contract is based on overall wins, so UL/RU loser would finish 9-3 against potentially 9-3 Cincy. Both have H2H win vs. Bearcats, though.

Yup, H2H doesn't count UC out. Selection committee will give them a good look. MT @koz_uc: H2H came by a combined 10 points with one in OT.
I love the bowl system. UC ends up with a midweek matchup against Duke, and the school will be criticized for "lacking fan support" when people have the audacity to say "I'm not wasting my money on this garbage."

I think UC fans will travel well to Charlotte, and although Duke does not draw as well as NC State or UNC, so there should be a decent crowd for the game.
Duke has lost 4 straight games in which they have allowed 198 points! If this is the match up then UC shouldn't even bother trying to sell fans on the opponent.

Actually, I like this. I want a win and a top 25 ranking. Not a loss to a "good name" and no ranking.
Remember how long UC was a basketball school only. Those fans who don't pay much attention to football may actually like this matchup.

UC fans have more than proven their worth in traveling to bowl games in recent years.

Getting a crappy matchup like this should not reflect on UC in any way. That said the media in this city would likely have a field day over a "poor" turnout. They keep quiet when UC travels well to the Orange, Sugar and Liberty bowls but you can bet Bill Kock will go bezerk if they dont show up for a matchup with a pathetic Duke team.

I go to UC games to watch UC, not the opponent. But thats just me.

VaTech beat them by three touchdowns. We could probably let Munchie QB left handed and beat them by 10.
Don't matter to me who we play. Just wanna watch the boys win.
