Didn't see this posted here, thought it was interesting.

So ESPN has the playoffs @$470 Million/year
ESPN has the Sugar, Orange & Fiesta Bowl @$125 Mil/year

The BCS now has $595 Million/year to divvy up in their tiered system of greed.

Very interesting.

How is that $470 Million to be divided again? Is it 10% to the "gang of 5"? Will that even be $1 Million/school? Nope.
I don't get it. So can the Cotton still go to Fox when it isn't a semi-final? Or ESPN gets it regardless?
How the 20% is broken out is yet to be decided. Maybe all equal. maybe 1/2 or 2/3 equal and 1/3 to 1/2 to conf with a team in the bowl. Time will tell.

Assuming that the Cotton is a "host bowl", no. All non-semifinal host bowls are included in this ESPN playoff package. Since ESPN already has deals in place with the Rose, Sugar and Orange Bowls, they'll own all of the semifinals and the top 6 bowl games for the next 12 years.

Well that sucks for everybody else. Best ante up with ESPN at this point. They have systematically eliminated the major players from getting key footholds in the sport.

At least Fox still has a nice package with the Pac/Big 12, but then again, ESPN still had rights to the Oregon/K-state games, so you wonder how much pull Fox even has in those conferences.

If the Cotton is one of the 3 "host bowls" (and I think it will be) then no, the Cotton Bowl will be on ESPN every year and will not be on Fox.

Looks like they have also fired a shot across the bow of the Big East and told them if they dont sign, then ESPN will take the Catholics and pay them more than they might have earned under any deal that the Big East would get elsewhere. ESPN pretty much owns the world.
