Smu has won 5 games and a few close ones on the road.

New coach Larry brown will replace the Princeton offense and matchup zone with some man defense and more of a motion offense.

Pg

Nick Russell, transfer from k state, is the main player. 6-4 combo guard. Brown says he is big time. He was one of the top pg's in the nation coming out of high school.

Ryan Manuel, a 6-4 sophomore, played a lot of games as a fr, 32, and is scoring about 15 a game.

Sg

London Giles (10.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 spg, .814 FT) sr transfer from Nevada. He is a big time shooter but had knee surgery last year.

Sf

Jalen Jones look to be the sf and is scoring 18 points a game. He is 6-6

Pf

Shawn Williams, Texas transfer, is a leader, brown says. 6-7 225lbs.

C

Sophomore Cannen Cunningham 6-9 225lbs is scoring about 10 a game

“Cannen is unbelievably gifted,” Brown said. “I don’t know where he plays, but he’s long and he’s athletic.”

UALR has played well and stuck to the game plan over the last 2 home games. We have found the next Fowler but it looks like SMU has 3 good scores. They don't have a proven inside game.

This is a 50/50. Before the 2 home wins I thought it would be a blowout but I think we will have a good scout on them and the kids are buying into the game plans.

Sounds like their talent may be better than I realized. I know they have one of the best coaches in the history of the gane,
Ttt
They will be a tough out. We just have to go in and stay with them. Stay close and anything can happen.
On paper they are pretty tough. They shoot 49% and allow only 37% overall. They shoot 42% from the arc and allow only 30%. They shoot 78% from the FT line. They are plus 5.5 rebounding. Twice as many blocks as their opponents. They are 5-0, but their opponents have not been exactly overwhelming. Sagarin has them 139, 207, 269, non-D1, and 221, for an average of 236 out of 347 schools. Our rating is 186. So all but one of their opponents have been worse than we are.

I'm a simple person Kerry, so you'll have to clue me in. What the hell is Ttt?
They will be the favorite, I am sure (Sagarin has them by 2), and it will be a distracting road trip for our young kids. But I am by no means writing this game off. I think we can win it.
I saw them warming up when I was leaving the ladies game a few days ago. They look to have some ballers. I don't know who has the better overall talent but if it comes down to game plans hands down smu has the advantage because Larry brown is not a hall of fame coach for nothing.

You see it a lot when selling something in a forum. Ttt = to the top
Jeff's got a few things up on his site

BTH put his finger on one of the real problems with this sort of game: keeping the kids' focus, especially a bunch of freshmen. You want them to have a good time, because it is a reward/recruiting tool. But then you did came down there to play ball, and when it is time, you don't want their minds wandering.
At least the experts are not picking SMU to blow us out.

I would like for us to win a game. But I also hope the guys have an opportunity to enjoy the beach and see a few things. This trip should be more than just basketball. Most of these kids have never had an experience like this and may not in the future.
That is a good point. I had never been Neil I was out of school.

Now, Joshua, has been 4 times before he was 7.
The mo st game is in over time so we are waiting for that to finish
10-3 good guys
So far good. Proud of our kids. At least we are not getting blown out by a legend.
15 to 9 good guys
Cut the lead to 1 and we are getting raped on the boards.
