...then my previous predictions would have come to pass, and we will have 4 conferences of 16. Here is how it will work. All of my sources are telling me the same info, so this will be the real deal.

Right now we know the following:

B1G: 14 (with UMD and RU) - adds UVA and UNC to get to 16

SEC: 14 - Adds VT and NCSU to get to 16

Big12: 10 - Adds FSU, Clemson, GT, Miami, UL and UC to get to 16

PAC12: 12 - Adds ND, Pitt, Syracuse and BC to get to 16

That is what everyone will see in the end. You're welcome.
So is duke gonna just go indy? UNC and Duke will never split apart.
idiodic thread...so duke, wake forest will no longer play football? really?
At first, his source said, "Reply hazy, try again."

On the second time, his source said, "It is decidedly so."
And he didn't have an "unnamed source" to validate his comments so we know this will never happen...lol.
if the big ten takes rutgers (as rumored), why wouldn't they continue to absorb the mid-atlantic/new england markets by taking virginia and uconn? while the acc would have bc, pitt and syracuse - the big ten would have all the flagship all-spots public institutions north of north carolina. that seems like a major coup market-wise.

Just curious, what would you think of Duke to the Ivy League?

Hell no Maryland is no loss to the ACC!03-phew
Think the Big 12 would take Pitt before Cincy. And Pitt would rather be with WVU and East Coast schools than in the Pac 12. I could see the Pac 12 taking BYU in that scenario or UConn.

I agree with this. Are you bags packed yet Ragu?
If the ACC keeps the divisions and just adds fricken UConn to the Atlantic then yes my bags are packed. 3 of the 6 divisional opponents being UConn, BC and Syracuse would be beyond awful.

Ask any Ivy League graduate this question and he'd laugh in your face... 07-coffee3

Honestly I wouldn't blame you, that would be straight up $#!t. If we do take UConn (actually not a drop off in football and better bball) then the divisions need a massive overhauling.

The ACC should have found a way to make regional divisions work when they went to 12 in 2003. If Miami is so interested in being with the other old BE teams, then as long as they were promised an annual cross-division game with FSU they would have been happy. With 14(13) teams there's no excuse to not make it North and South Divisions.
I think that the question is who/how is the PAC 12 going to expand with BIG 12 intact? ND already plays several so it is the East Coast ND pod to the PAC 12 to get ND. ND, BC, Pitt, and Cuse as package. Yes BIG 12 would probably rather have PITT but I would guess Pitt would rather have ND, Cuse, BC instead of WV, Ville, midwest teams....

I do not see PAC taking BYU on religious basis but ND moves the needle so yes I do see them taking ND/BC.

They will still play football, just not in one of these 16 conferences. If (not sure I buy it) this comes to be... the Big East BB eliminates FB as sponsored sport.... and Duke WF join the Big East BB confernce. FB plays in whatever new FB conference is created.

Out of curiosity....

What arrangment in the ACC keeps you from packing your bags? Not trying to say ohhhh pick UofL... just curious if in your mind there is a realistic paring that keeps FSU happy and ACC whole? Of your choices... three of 6 opponents UofL, BC, Cuse or Cincy, BC, Cuse or USF, BC, Cuse or Navy, BC, Cuse......or some other alignment?

Where did you go to college Bit?
I think the PAC-12 will stay regional. That is their brand, their identity. They will stay at 12, or go to 14/16 if/when regional options become available.
