Thinking about buying a good multi-purpose scanner, not only so I can scan and edit documents but also photos and other stuff. I'm thinking $300 or under, but will to listen above that if somebody thinks one is worth it. Any help0 is greatly appreciated.
I thought this was going to be about the movie based on the philip k. dick short story "third variety."
I use a ScanSnap. Fast, multi-page, and scan directly to iCloud.
Seems like it was around $300, maybe a little more. Check the review comments at Amazon, etc. I bought it based on the almost unanimous positive reviews.

Outstanding, thanks, I'll look into it.
Many of my colleagues use it, too. Hear good things about it.
I'd go with a flat-bed scanner if I were you, Bill. You'll probably be scanning old books/manuscripts/etc. as well.

Yes, I will. Photos, pdfs, etc., all kinds of stuff. A flat-bed might make the most sense.

I don't know man... at your age, since you'll be scanning SCROLLS primarily, the flatbed may not work for you...
(couldnt resist... sorry...)

Scrolls can lay flat too you know. Now, clay tablets are problematic.
