Does not matter last two games, the team has quit...And evident by our fan turnout, the fans have quit also..A shame we wasted a good start to the season..But I am afraid our team this season was all smoke and mirrors...We beat the two worst teams in the country in Kentucky and Southern MIss..NOt sure how we beat Ark st, but maybe the reason is we had a different QB playing 2nd half and our defense clearly played above their heads second half...I know bowls mostly accept mediocrity with allowing 70 teams in, but WKU does not deserve a bowl bid and after today I am sure their bowl hopes are gone..A bowl team does not allow a 2 and 7 team to come in and beat them down...And yes FAU is improving but no excuses for loss today...Season is over and the players quit..Taggart needs to go back to the drawing board, and if someone hires him as hc after this seasons collapse, they need to have their heads checked...

I've never been impressed with Jakes. Was not impressed with him in our game. His backup however.....
This WKU team wouldn't stand a chance against ASU today. ASU has improved every game and WKU has forgotten how to play football.
You have 6 wins. You will be bowling. BTW, FAU stomped Troy and beat WKU on the road. Whatever their problems at the beginning of the season, FAU appears to have solved them.

WKU is not playing well and doing things that will lose games. Turnovers, Special Teams mistakes, etc.
WKU can still have a great season if we can pull out 1 of the last 2 games. It is especially important to get the 7th win with the bowl selection rules.
Good chance to still go Bowling and many teams would trade places with us.

ULL game was a heartbreaker...will be tough next week.
SBC has improved greatly from top to bottom over the last few years and there are no easy games anymore.

FAU is a much improved team..... And I picked FAU in a shocker lol.
eventually WKU fans will realize it is a process moving up to FBS. your not going to win championships out of the gate. 6-6 is not bad at all for your 4th year in fbs.
Back to back 7-5 seasons in our 3rd & 4th years in FBS would be solid.

This is exactly how I feel. I don't care how much FAU has improved you don't lose at home to them. This team does not deserve to go to a bowl, I hope we don't. I had hope after winning at ASU on the road but that hope was demolished today. We just aren't a very good team. I am ready for basketball & the Jakes era to end. I would be embarrassed to have lost to this team. The running game can only carry you so far & if you put pressure on Jakes he folds. I hope we will be better next year,we will see. :iagree:
Geez some of you Western fans are being total sissy boys. Yeah you've had some disappointing losses, just like the rest of us. You're more than likely going to your first bowl game this year, so enjoy it. You're not really in the position to complain about having a winning season, ass clowns.

Our crowd was pathetic, pitiful, whatever you want to call it.

i was disappointed today just like i was for middle and ulm. but ima be in lafayette saturday and at the unt game hoping to send them out of the sunbelt with a loss.

That's a bit harsh, but I do think we're much better today....yet it wouldn't be a slam dunk.
I'm afraid that WKU is just one of those teams that gives us troubles (and losses)....regardless of how either of our seasons are going.
So you start 5 and 1 and then lose 3 out of 4 with 3 loses at home and you cannot complain? The transition years are over for FBS as far as I am concerned, we took our hits first two seasons and its not like we just started playing football from scratch...IMO does not matter from that perspective, we have been competition in conference last three seasons and only non conf. this season, we have quit for some reason and back to playing not to lose instead of playing to win...Its disappointing if you follow your team and have such promise than you just go in the tank...Who the hell thinks WKU is bowling at 6 and 6, what are you guys on?..Only remote possibility we make a bowl game is if we win our last two games...
