has the Sun Belt had a de facto conference championship game to end the season. I'm not talking about co-championship games, but games that decide who wins the tiebreaker and automatic bid to a bowl.

2006 - Troy @ MT :drunk2:

2007 - FAU @ Troy

The Sun Belt has a chance to put the icing on the cake of a great season for the conference with a game on championship weekend for the Sun Belt title between Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee. Now before everyone jumps me for putting the cart ahead of the horse, I realize there is plenty of football to be played (MT has to beat Troy, so yeah I know), but we have a good chance to cap off the season with a great game in Jonesboro. Crossing my fingers.

As of now, the game is not set to be televised. I remember the Troy vs. FAU "championship" was not on TV, either.
If that game turns out to be for all the marbles, hopefully it gets picked up by ESPN. It will be better then alot of the other actual conference championship games. In the Big 10 you could Indiana(4-5)-Mich(6-3), ACC could be FSU(9-1)-Duke(6-4), PAC-12 Oregon(9-1)-USC(6-3), none are blockbuster games. So I could see a little interest in our game. Wishful thinking that we have become relivant as a conference.

yeah, I'm more worried about you guys right now. South has been very, very competitive this year.

Was at both games.

I enjoyed 06 game alot more than the 07 game.

I wore my TROY Mardi Gras beads to the game in 07 in preparation for the invite to the NOB after we won the game. 03-puke

TROY will have a say in who wins the conference this year. TROY still plays ASU at home next week and @MTSU the following week.
In between now and then....

Go Troy!!!!!!
i will be rooting hard for Troy both those games.

If we can ever put together a complete game we'd be even more competitive. MTSU gets two weeks to prepare for USA so even though it's a home game for us you guys would likely still have a huge advantage. I just hope your players don't take us seriously. :)

Somebody chalk this one up for posterity; the Cajuns and the Warhawks are both pulling for the same team. lol

You're forgetting the SEC championship, likely to be #1 Alabama(12-0) vs at worst #5 Georgia(11-1). Which would kick off an hour after our game.

Are you kidding me, even when the SBC game is one of the few around, the talking heads at ESPN had rather talking about the upcoming games or other game on Thursday night....When the SBC games go to the studio for halftime, they do not talk for one second about the game at hand, instead they talk about the big games coming up this weekend...Its a joke and we continue to be ESPN's b%$%$h....
If ASU and MTSu remain unscathed till the final game maybe we do get picked up. I'm sure ASU would move game time to accommodate TV.

However, ASU has a big game scheduled at Troy first to worry about...Troy will be no pushover, especially at home.

Go Red Wolves!

I was just pointing out the games that aren't as attractive as they should be. The fact remains that the normal fan isn't going to turn off any of those games for an SBC game, we just aren't there yet. However, for us SBC people, it would be great to be able to watch. We will continue to be ESPN's b%$%$h until we have the numbers of fans that warrent a better situation.

In terms of ESPN though, you dont worry about that game. CBS has the SEC title game this year, and I believe Fox has the PAC 12 and Big 10 games. Either ESPN or ABC has the ACC.
Just an FYI. Cajuns vs Florida will be on the SEC network tomorrow morning at 11am central time. I think its a Fox network broadcast.
For the record, I have strong doubts about us beating Troy...
