I'll guess 8 - 6 OOC and 10 - 6 within the MAC for a regular season record of 18 - 12.

The OOC record is crazy with 3 non-D-I team BUT 4 teams named Syracuse, Purdue, Michigan and Kentucky. Those are four brutally tough teams. 03-weeping

Seven of the 14 OOC games should be easily predictable.

Your predictions?
I like 8-6 OOC. Seems about right, considering we may lose one we are supposed to win because the new guys haven't gelled yet.

I'll be a homer and think we go 12-4 in the MAC, with losses @Ohio, @Toledo, @BG, and we'll probably split with WMU (their new guys can shoot it, supposedly). I think we are good enough to beat Akron and Buffalo at home, and win at Kent. That's way down the road, and a lot can happen before then, obviously. I just have high hopes for this season. With a 21-10 record (I say we win our home BracketBusters game), plus a decent run in the MAC tourney, we could get into the NIT. That would be amazing, and perhaps the foundation for an even bigger run next year.

But again, that's the optimistic and homerish view. Steve's is a bit closer to plausible reality, although Murphy has done nothing but exceed expectations thus far.
Oh, I'll say OOC losses to UK, Cuse, Michigan, UMass, Jacksonville St (they are supposed to be decent), and Oakland. We get our football revenge on a rebuilding Purdue team that may struggle with outside shooting.
BTW, Sam, 20 regular season wins and I hate to say it, but we may be looking for a...
An at-large bid would be EXTREMELY difficult without beating Kentucky, Cuse, or Michigan, and I just can't see us winning any of those. We would have to run the table to the end of the MAC tourney for any prayer with our only 3 losses being those teams.

Take a look at Drexel's season last year...they cleaned out the CAA, which is a better league than the MAC and even they couldn't get an at-large. Mid majors have to beat the big boys to get respect. If we somehow drop one of the three top 10 teams we play, then we can start talking about an NCAA at large bid.
Unless you meant looking for a new coach. It's pretty early in the morning lol.
are you all including the bracketbuster game in your count of OOC games? i see 15 on here, but i've been known to make bigger mistakes.

i'll say 9-6 for non-conference games. lose Kentucky, Syracuse, UM (ugh), Purdue and two of UMass, Oakland, Siena, Illinois-Chicago, IPFW.

for conference games, i'll go with 9-7. lose two games to Ohio, Akron, Buffalo. lose one to toledo. and four losses to teams because our shooting is cold.

when we lose, i think it will be because we aren't getting enough scoring. i can picture a few games where Thompson's shot isn't falling, Harrison isn't getting to the hoop and Bryant gets a few bad bounces on the rim.

I think this is probably pretty close to the mark. Maybe 11-5 MAC, 20-11 overall (which is 9-6 OOC -- don't forget the Bracketbuster).
let's also keep in mind that it's cruel to force us to make predictions before we've seen Ray Lee.

Or Jamell Harris. He might be a real beast this season...
