Notice, this is not towards all Ohio fans on here, just a very select few...

Can we stop acting like Temple fans now? Miami and BGSU respectively brought the Bobcats back to earth and the BSU and KSU games are not going to be pretty. It's been 44 years since we've won anything in football other then a lousy bowl in Idaho and obviously we were running on borrowed time. There is nothing for us to be cocky about and it's not worth having the whole board mad at us. A few of you on here are making us look like Marshall fans... Let that sink in for a moment... It's called winning and losing with grace. The way we have been playing, the writing was on the walls. And the way some of you have been acting is whats causing this jubilation that we have lost. Eastern Michigan isn't going anywhere, granted their football program has taken a step back compared to last year their basketball is solid (projected to win the west I believe?) and olympic sports as well are very good thus not warranting them to get the boot. When Ohio was putrid I don't really recall anybody pushing to kick Ohio out by the way. Just stop it, your embarrassing the fan base. Ohio didn't win by 30, BG obviously had a chance at winning, Ohio's chances at conference realignment are nil, and nobody cares if Ohio has the best attendance or the most season tickets sold. The only thing that matters is the results on the field. Because of that then you earn any potential bragging rights and even then it's with a light touch. You don't brag about your school and then hope the team backs it up. That is why some of you need the Heimlich because of the amount of crow your choking on. I'm sorry I'm just tired of a few on here that are giving Ohio fans a terrible name and I'm sick of it.
+1 sir. Respectable thing to say, about a respectable school.
it's message board & we don't live in Russia
Thank you, Mr. Non-Sequiter!

We don't live in Greenland, either.
Better than Philly.

So just because it's a message board it's perfectly ok for people to act like an ass? Is that what your saying?

Well said - it only takes a couple posters from any fanbase to annoy the rest of the board and cause a backlash against an entire fanbase. I'm sure it's not unusual on message boards though.
Just want to chime in, OhioFan. I'm sure you know this, but the vast majority of MAC fans know that the vast majority of Ohio fans are not represented by its squeakiest wheels. Doesn't make them less annoying to either contingent, but I wouldn't give them credit for giving Ohio fans in general a bad name.

+1. I didn't mean to imply any different than this.

You lost him with Non-Sequiter.
Greenland? That sounds like something you just made up...like Iceland. Heh...a country made of ice..that would be funny
I haven't had the chance yet to do this, but this thread seems like a good place to do so. Here's a big, hearty congratulations to the BG football team. You guys came in to Athens and took care of business. Your defense is TOUGH and your team is the real deal. Way to go!

I hope we can bounce back but it doesn't look too promising. And i want to thank Ohiofan23 for writing what he did and i agree with what he said. I hope you guys on the board will eventually see that not all of us Ohio fans are jerks. Thanks!!!!

At least in Russia they don't have armed Black Panther Militias standing outside of voting precincts. They just have one represtative options on the ballots. Actually Philly has that too !! Suburbs are nice the city especially where the North Philly Community College is located (aka Temple) is a crime haven.
I tried this last week. Hope it sticks this time.

You lost him with Non-Sequiter.

Especially since he misspelled sequitur
what makes you guys think your dribble is so brilliant.
freedom of speech is what makes board intresting
Obviously much of this was directed at me. Since not all of it is directed at me, I will probably make some points about mistruths made that weren't actually directed at me. Just ignore that if that is the case.

Calling for a 30 point win is a bold prediction that I didn't expect to win over any MAC fans. I was wrong, and I posted in that thread that BG was a better team then I believed they were. I consider owning up to my bad prediction as losing with grace.
My only regret is posting that on this board instead of the smack board where it belonged and obviously my Bobcats not helping me out on the field. I have never bragged about Ohio attendance or Ohio winning, yet many posters choose to make my posts about that (possibly because of other Ohio posters). I challenge you to find a place where I didn't win with grace.

As for EMU, obviously I've made my case plenty of times. I've stated that I do not believe anything but football matters in the scope of conference alignment. I have stated I wish this wasn't the case (since I care about Ohio basketball quite a bit and have had family compete in other sports), but that is simply how it is. I have explained why I feel EMU is different than other programs that go through losing periods. I won't bore you with that again. Please just disagree with my beliefs rather than saying I'm arguing something I'm not.

Finally, Ohio fans had a bad name on here long before I started posting. Maybe that is because of other Ohio posters, but lets not pretend Ohio hate is anything new. I'm sorry for anyone I embarrassed, I think you would find me to be a pretty reasonable individual outside of my beliefs toward EMU and possibly my political beliefs. Both are well intended for all except the people I suggest we cut loose. I wish those parties nothing but the best in their future endeavors. In fact, I hope they get to the point where I can argue they contribute significant value. I'm pulling for them to prove me wrong. Until I believe that is possible, I cannot in good conscience support said groups.

FYI, EMU's total attendance is between 60,000-65,000 (VERY approximately by my count). I credit their creativity in meeting the NCAA minimum on attendance. 45,000 of those tickets come from their deal with Pepsi to buy tickets. Genius move by their AD to help them meet the NCAA demands. They only need 10,000-15,000 more ticket sales to meet the 15,000 person average (5 games). Some of that will come from their last game, while some will probably need to come from donors buying discounted tickets. The creativity used by their AD with the Pepsi deal is the kind of thought I would like to see across the MAC in other areas. Credit to EMU and their outside the box thinking.
