Who is this "MAC" poster guy who puts in posts with advertisement? Are these ads endorsed by the board to help defray costs of running the site?

I don't know about "endorsed", but yes, they're to help defray the site hosting costs.

Makes you wonder where the MAC would be at if they were ranked appropriately in the polls. Not to mention how different SOS would be which would bump them higher in the computer polls as well.
