You beat me by 1 minute

The MAC got a bit lucky here, in that the best season in about a decade (conservatively, since 2003) coincided with a down year for the B1G, coupled with two of their top programs on probation.

That said...

04-cheers indeed!
Pretty cool but when you look at the OOC records, it's kind of silly btu no doubt the author is trying to get a "dig" in on the B10 for the lousy year they've had. I mean, would our top teams be favored vs. OSU and Wisky? I don't think so. And B10 bottom dwellers are much more capable than our UMass type schools. Don't get me wrong..I certainly enjoy seeing it posted like that!

While I agree in general, do you think the MAC might be even a tad bit more competitive if you increased their athletic budgets by 10-fold? And gave them continuous positive press coverage in the local media?

Somebody grab a screenshot of that and email it to all my *sshole Big Ten friends. Oh wait, I can do that myself :)
Makes you wonder where the MAC would be at if they were ranked appropriately in the polls. Not to mention how different SOS would be which would bump them higher in the computer polls as well.
The MAC record vs. the Big 10 this year so far is 3-9.

I'm just saying that if we're better, shouldn't we have a much better record H-2-H?

:iagree:
If more games were home games for the MAC school, the record would be better, but I agree. They're getting carried away if they think we're better. I think we're a lot closer than usual though.
No to mention, of those 12 games I think that only 3 were against MSU, OSU and UM, meaning we played the bottom feeders of the Big Ten (Yes I left off PSU due to that being the first game after Sandusky) and still didn't do all that great.

Although that is in large part to our weaker teams, UMass and EMU, who were a combined 0-4.
Congratulations. No offense, hard to believe, but congratulations!

4 of the MAC loses were from UMass and EMU, 2 of the worst teams 1A. WMU screwed themselves and the MAC over losing to Illinois and Minnesota.
The top 4 in the MAC are level with NW, Nebraska, and UM.
Ohio State is better than all MAC teams IMO.
The next tier in the MAC with Ball State, BG is about equal with the middle big 10 teams.
The rest of the MAC excluding EMU and UMASS wouldn't be favored vs. the middle Big10 but would compete.
The bottom of the big10 is better than UMASS and EMU.

And how many of those games were road games for the MAC? That's a major factor that can't be dismissed.
The big losses that hurt our case are... WMU vs. Minn. WMU vs. Illinois. NIU vs. Iowa.
The wins that help our case are... CMU vs. Iowa. OU vs. PSU. Ball vs. Indiana.
The rest of the losses are kind of irrelevant, because we were large underdogs on the road.
CMU cancelled itself out. Lost to MSU at home but beat Iowa on the road.
