I heard this during the game last night & couldn't believe my ears at first - not that I was in total disbelief of it but I looked tonight & guess what -

Burdette is #2 in the nation just 1 tackle behind a guy from Toledo all on a bum ankle. Not bad for a 2star or lower recruit (I don't know what he was coming in)

04-rock
He is just a fraction off the lead this week.
Marvin Burdette 2012- 157 tackles (90 solo, 67 assisted),1 int, 2 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 touchdown

Manti Te'o 2012 - , 103 tackles (52 solo, 51 assisted), 7 Ints, 1.5 sacks,5.5 tackles for a loss 1 FR

So who the heck is Manti Te'o?
Wonder what his draft status looks like

5'9" LB's don't play in the NFL.

burdette is listed at 5'11 230lbs, still doesnt help
London Fletcher and Zach Thomas are 5-10. Sam Mills was 5-11 off the top of my head. I'm sure a quick roster search would be in order for someone who has the time. Im sure the further you go back in history the shorter they become but I know there are some under 6' guys playing right now at LB.
Jamie Winburn from wetumpka is only 5'10" or 11". He played 20 years in the NFL. I wish he had signed with us, but Vandy offered on the last day

"Ahem!!!" ...Sam Mills (God rest his soul) would give you a healthy debate on why that isn't the case. Mr. Burdette may very well be the next "Field Mouse" to come in the league, and heaven knows the NFL can & should make room for talent like that.
James Harrison is 5'10".
It means that he will not get drafted high or possibly even drafted.

It does not mean that he doesn't have an opportunity to be a free agent & get an opportunity.

i hated the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars...Sam Mills is a good comparison for Marvin
Sam Mills and the Crunch Bunch. Nice comparison.
If you can tackle, you will get a job in the NFL.
Burdette makes his own fate. His fate is not made for him.

He'll do precisely what it is that he wants to do, when he wants to do it.
