...I live in SEC country right now. Believe it or not, there's not a lot of MAC fans around here. This is one of the few places I can go to talk about the teams I care about.
But lately, it seems like 3/4 of the threads degenerate into fights between Ohio fans and everyone else. The other 1/4 were started for that reason.
So I'm asking everyone to step back, take a deep breath, and act like adults. Stop it. This isn't like the realignment threads, which can be at least amusing. It's becoming downright miserable to visit this board, and I find myself embarrassed as an Ohio alumnus and a MAC fan to see some of this behavior. I won't point fingers here. I just want it to end.
There are a couple here whose purpose is to start flame wars and be idiots. But there's a lot of us who are better than that. I'd like to see that win out.

There are four teams in the MAC right now who should have mad swagger. NIU, Toledo, Kent, and Ohio are all in the middle of something special and I for one thing a rising tide lifts all boats (even the dingy that Captain Quinn is fishing off of).
Other teams like Ball State and Bowling green are in the middle of impressive building programs.
While EMU, Buffalo, and a few others are down, seemingly forever, they do bring other assets to the conference.
And to those who swear only football matters? why in the hell did the Big East go after Memphis?

The only people that think only football matters are those without a basketball program.
But I agree with JSF. Last year during the NCAA tournament, we were all rooting for Ohio and excited for them with every win. I see a little of what happened since then but if they went undefeated this football season and made a BCS game, this board would have been nasty, especially if they beat NIU by a blown call in the MACC game or something.
You folks up in MAC country have been subjected to the 24/7 political attack ads. No wonder the negativity has oozed into this board.
Seriously, why post regularly on a MAC board unless you are a fan of the conference? If you basically only care about your school, stick to your team's board. Debate is fine, but during a great season we should be touting the teams and not running them down.
Now how about that Boise State loss that has cracked open the BCS-bowl door for either the MAC or WAC?

Same with Kent State during College WS run.
When you have teams competing for the top spot, you're going to slam heads on more than 1 occasion. Once a MAC champ is crowned we'll all go back to supporting one another in the bowl season vs. OCC.
why is it wrong to strongly dislike Ohio U?
It just feels natural
You aren't going to see a whole lot of swagger (hate that word) from Toledo. Trying to keep cool heads.

It's entertaining to read these boards...and to rip on annoying posters. Sometimes we have to take out our frustrations on someone and a certain OU fan makes it too easy...
Toledo is ranked and the rest of you are scum!!! Haha sorry I had to! I do agree it should go back to normal at the end of the regular season
Completely agree I want to see NIU vs. Toledo become a 1 loss vs. 1 loss BCS ranked teams and 1 loss v. 1 loss Kent v. Ohio. Going to help move the MAC champ into the top 16 because these will be quality wins on National Television. For the MAC Championship 11-1 vs. 11-1 both teams 20-25 range could put them over the edge to a BCS bowl. Any of these teams losing it does hurt the strength of schedule. I will be honestly happy whoever wins because my alma mater is out of contention for the MAC but could end up in a bowl still based off this success. If not I'm going to be happy to cheer for ALL MAC TEAMS IN THE BOWLS.
At least the MAC wins the bowls unlike other Midwest teams.
I really want Toledo to win out and get into the BCS. That would be awesome.

So much football to play yet with 3 very tough opponents coming BEFORE the MACC, so much can happen.
