Dear Akron,

We are in beast mode. Step in front of the train if you dare.

fantastic!! bring on the Zits!!
Amazing to think that Rutgers was only giving up 69 rushing yards a game and T.D. alone laid 131 on them. Watched the second half again. Rutgers had everyone stacked on the line and we were just blowing through them.

Love the picture of Durham dannyb73 and yes bring on the zits to Dix Stadium this Saturday. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the Kent State fans will fill up Dix Stadium and more importantly be loud!
I have never anticipated a football game as much as this Saturday!!!! This week is gonna be painfully long! I will not have a voice for at least 2 days after this one. How sweet it will be. :-D
Please, Please, Pleeeze don't lose this game. I can't think of any way we lose this one except the scariest scenario: getting too big for our britches. Anyone remember what happened in basketball after beating St. Mary in 2008? Yea, you know Akron is looking forward to this Saturday more than we are.
Weather is suppose to be cool but sunny. As good as it gets in November. Of course we have to survive Sandy and about 4 inches of rain and 50mph+ wind gusts for 2-3 days first.

Not a chance in hell is that statement true, I promise you.

Akron gives up an average of 231 rushing ypg and an average of 5 yards per rush. No friggin' way that defense wants to get hit by Thunder and Lightening.

Besides, JJ has it right. With DH's attention to detail, you think he's going to let them overlook this game?
The books out in Nevada have our flashes as a 21 point favorite

I hope I am wrong, but that seems like a lot of points against an Akron team that has scored a lot of points against everyone they play.

That was early. BG exposed their pass protection weakness with four second-half sacks. Zips scored 10 in that game, seven against Northern and 14 against piss poor CMU - half of that in garbage time. They did put 28 up on OU but I'm pretty sure Kent Roosevelt could put points up on the Bobkittens defense.

Remember, the Vegas line is to encourage early and frequent $$ movement, not necessarily an indication on who should win and by how much.
This team has to remember what Rutgers did not last week and that's that you can't take any team too lightly.

I don't care if Kentucky is in the SEC or not, we are still the only team they beat all year. How badly would we like to have that game back and be on the BCS charts today???

Keep your composure boys and kick the kangaroos asses back to Akron! A win is nice but a blowout against our arch rivals at home in front of a packed house as we hoist the Wagon Wheel for a 3rd year in a row would be too damn sweet to pass up. GO FLASHES!!!

You can throw all the numbers and statistics at me you want, but this is a rivalry game.. And you know how that works. I doubt Akron is cowering in their locker room hoping the hurricane hits Kent and cancels the game.

Akron is a dead stick. They have nothing to play for right now, except to knock their rivals out of contention. What happened to OU can happen to us.

Rutgers' mistake in looking at our loss to a 1-win UK team was not figuring out that Rutgers would probably be 2-6 with UK's schedule. Who would they have beaten that UK didn't? WKU? Probably. Other than that? They did beat Arkansas, and they didn't beat us. Unlikely they would beat Missouri, SC, Georgia, Miss. St,. Florida. They get their crack at Louisville this week. They were suffering what we have seen in the MAC: delusions of grandeur over being undefeated without looking more deeply at the schedule.
I could be wrong, but I feel this Coach and this Team are too disciplined to let CrAkron in the game.

What happened to OU can happen to us.

#1 - I would bet a good number of Akron players actually are doing that.

#2 - What happened to OU is it got beat on the road by its hated rival whom many had penciled in as a pre-season MAC contender and bowl participant. It's certainly not a 1-8 team in D-I clothing who hasn't won a game against D-I competition in light years.

I don't know what more this team has to do to prove to you guys it is NOT a Kent State team of the past. Past years' teams may have walked in to this game with a different mindset.

This game will be over at the end of the first period, and if not, certainly by halftime. And if I see any people leaving the stadium, giving up on the chance to watch us further embarrass that team and those hillbilly coaches, I will personally force you all back in with a bayonet.
See DH's press conference today. No doubt we'll be ready for Saturday.

Alpha, although OU didn't lose to a "dead stick" I agree with you here. This is their bowl game. It's their chance to make a miserable season worthwhile. It definitely has the feel of a typical trap-game scenario so we better not overlook them.

With that said, Akron is the perfect team to play following a program defining win. If it was Buffalo or CMU we might overlook them but teams seldom fall into a trap-game against their arch rival.
Akron... West till you smell it. North till you step in it.
