Is it within the realm of possibility that if he continues his production this year and if Northern wins out Lynch could be talked about as a dark horse Heisman candidate?
Not until next year, if we are going for our 3rd straight MAC championship. THEN he'll get some love. But he's still trying to get on the radar....once he is there, he'll get some love, but his chances are incredibly small of even being invited to New York, bias being what it is.
If he keeps playing the way that he has and if he leads NIU to a MAC Championship he will force his way into the conversation.

He is a special player and he deserves some national recognition. I agree that his chances of going to NY are very small. If the Huskies were undefeated he would have a much better chance this year.

All that said, he deserves to be part of the Heisman conversation and that is incredible!
I think he's now on that list of "Other's mentioned" when talking about the guys who are actually candidates. Which.. for a guy at a non-AQ school, in his first year starting, is pretty incredible.
He came came into today's game with more offensive yards than 40 FBS teams, and totaled 410 yards today. Pretty great.

Lynch has 94 more total yards and 2 TDs more than the player that they are talking about today as one of the leading candidates.
The ABC 7 News Sports Anchor said Lynch is a legit heisman candidate tonight after the ND game lol.
Lynch just got nominated for a helmet sticker on the CFB recap on ESPN2.
We don't play a tough enough schedule this year for him to be considered a legitimate candidate. A player getting votes, no question, but not a serious contender. But if we can go undefeated next year, then maybe.
If the universe made sense, yes. Unfortunately, if a Notre Dame or Alabama QB miraculously learns how to spell his own name, the press will hold a parade and our rock star QB will get a courtesy mention from the powers that be and nothing more.
