Hey I know someone posted this the other day, but I cannot seem to find it. Does anyone have the Alabama game recorded? My roommate is a big BAMA fan, but obviously an NIU student and we have been talking about the game forever and want to sit down and watch it. Is there anyway I could get a copy? Also, does anyone have the Maryland tape as well? That's just a fun one I want to re-watch. Thanks.

Does anyone have a good picture of the scoreboard at the Alabama game with the final score?

pjfleck82 posted that
I've never seen a video of NIU's victory over Alabama. I just remember that night clearly of nail biting and finally elation along with Bill Baker.

I forgot to mention, he does love NIU, goes to all the games. He's originally from Bama that's why he's a fan, not that he doesn't like the Huskies.

That is understandable.

OK, he's off the hook, then.

Sorry, a bit off-topic, but in the article it mentions an award given to players in remembrance of Shea Fitzgerald:
Quote:The team rallied around the memory of Fitzgerald, preserving his locker in game-day condition and creating an award–a sledge hammer with Shea engraved into the handle–given to the player who delivered the biggest hit in a game.

Do they no longer give out that award?
Watch the game in the Convo with about 1,000 fans.
Maybe one day we can do that again.
How about for the MAC Championship for people who can't go?
If have copies of the game on DVD, and would be willing to part with them. You in DeKalb?
I am in DeKalb, and I'm looking for a deal if you're willing to part.

That really is a nice thing, and Athletics should seriously consider it, barring usage of the Convo that day. It's a great feeling watching with other Huskie fans in the comfort of the Convo. Almost feels like you are at the game. I would certainly go if I don't attend the game.

That can't cost much.

Free entry for students, $1 for everyone else, free parking then have one concession stand open to sell popcorn and pop.

I've never even heard about that award. Don't know if they still do that.

the Huskie QB poster that shows the QBs from Bork to Lynch , in my opinion is missing Josh Haldi. He had a pretty good record as our starter

Agree Haldi was one of NIU's best and smartest QB. A 4.00 GPA Accountancy major. Probably the first QB since the great "wishbone" to
beat a ranked team. Helped herald in the new winning era of NIU football ,after having the longest losing streak in division 1 College Football. Came to NIU when we were close to our bottom and helped greatly put NIU FB on the map!

First four year NIU QB to NOT be on a losing NIU team in decades!!!
The QB who led NIU to victories over a ranked Maryland, a ranked Alabama and Iowa State! An 8-0 record with NIU ranked #10 in the nation. Scholar athlete who helped lay the foundation of our very successful FB tradition of today.

First NIU QB in a post season Bowl in almost 20 years.
Although future NFL players like RB Michael Turner and Garrett Wolf would receive most of the accolades,Joshua Haldi will always be the NIU QB remembered for:

Going 10-2 and not going to a Bowl game in 2003;
changing Bowl rules where the MAC would have more then two teams represented;
Having the largest yearly crowd averages at home stadium probably to date.( I stand to be corrected).
Anyone remember the 2003 Maryland game! Probably the first Nationally televised NIU FB win over a ranked team in front of a sold out stadium.
Getting Chicago excited about NIU FB, after a very long drought.
Getting Alumni involvement to new levels resulting in the new sports facility.
The QB who led NIU to it's highest ranking, when the MAC had four ranked teams including Miami-Ohio, Bowling Green, Toledo .
