"Punter U"? Ugh.

Having said that, we've been fortunate to go seamless from the porn star to Mullins. Hell, I think Ragland should have been defensive MVP at least one year he was here.
Glad Hunter is getting some recognition. Well deserved

Pretty much can call us Punter U but it does go back farther than the last 3 as we've had some pretty good ones doing double duty back to Watson. Though it's not translated to pro ranks but that's a tough gig for any kicker to break into w/ openings seldom happening.

At this point I feel like Ty has a great shot to make it to the league. His leg strength for kick off's has been a lot better this season. It was a weakness last year, but he was only a freshman. I'd like to hear your thoughts blazerwkr.

Trey coined that phrase. He tweeted it to Champlin.
I'm not sure being called Punter U is a good thing.

I understand the point though.

He could kick just as far last year. The problem was the way he was made to practice last year. By the time Sat. got there, his leg was worn out.
Has anyone figured out yet if this is Parker's younger brother?
I'll be so happy when the day comes that we are good enough that we don't have to talk about a damn punter. He's done a fine job this year, but when you start talking about punters, you are really stretching to find something positive to write about.
His foot should be registered as a potentially lethal weapon. I love the productivity and attitude of UAB's PK and P. Someone asked Coach McGee at the previous media conference about Mr. Mullins, and that was about the most complimentary tone he gave about a given player on the team.

I don't believe they're brothers.

He was over kicked at practiced. But that is not why he struggled with kick offs last year.

It wasn't all that long ago that many of us, in regards to the kicking game, was either 03-weeping,03-banghead or using :censored: metaphors in our overall assesment/description, especially the placekicking.

Do not underestimate the importance, Sir, 05-nono of having a punter and placekicker whose value to the team's success is just as important as any other category of a football squad. I was just saying that I can't recall encountering a punter and placekicker that have been taking "Ray Lewis Pills" in terms of what they bring to the team's morale and attitude, this is an extremely rare occurrrence on any level of football. I'm glad that we have "foot specialists" with that kind of moxie on UAB's football team.

UTD!!!
Hunter the Punter & Ty the Guy.

+1 Confidence is most important thing for a kicker. I would say articles like this are helpful.

Kickers are Football Players, Too!
The Super Bowl Champions punted the ball. Every team in the country punts the ball. Show me a team that has never punted once in a season.

It can be a huge weapon.

Sooooooooooo why not have the best punters? I am fine with Punter U. At least we are known for something.

Yep, and who were the articles after the game written about? Eli and Manningham. That's the way it goes.

I understand the importance of having a good kicking game, and as a soccer player I pay more attention to them than most. But... my point was I will be happy when the day comes along that so much else is going right that we don't have to have articles written about our punter.
