Was just wondering what the official number of attendance was, it was decently filled at the bottom half until it started pouring, but that student section was a joke, I know my high school has a bigger student section at away games and we're 0-8...
The students had been filling their entire section this year. I can't blame them for not wanting to sit in the rain and watch an 0-5 team.

We were embarrassed on homecoming...there was no way a good crowd was going to be at this game. For those who went, at least there was something to get excited about.
Attendance was reported as 2,837. Contrary to some seasons, I think that's about what it actually was (my quick eyeball guess was that it was double the 2010 NIU game attendance, which was 1,404).

I agree with EagleSam, I don't blame anyone who stayed home yesterday, given the weather forecast and the team's performance up to that point.

I agree 10000000%

I think we may had blown a huge chance at getting fans back (cheeks in seat) with our very poor start this season.

I would think now, the thing to do to build and showcase what we on offense.

We need to finish strong...

Except for the seniors there will be another season next year.
Dear Friends,
Being at the game yesterday, was disappointing from an attendance perspective, however, given what everyone has said about Eastern's record, and the rain, could anything have really been different? Eastern really has some loyal fans that show up to every home game, including me and my brother regardless of the weather or the record. We also try and make at least one away game during the season. The point I'm trying to make, is that more than 50% of any teams following are bandwagon fans. If, the team is winning and the weather is good they'll be there. Keep losing games and they won't, and we all know that. Pudge, you are correct. Even if Eastern were to win out, there are only three home games left, and there will not be any crowd size for the Army game this coming week. It's too late to capture the attendance award for this year, but it would be nice to finish well as emu steve has said.
Idk Army can attract the average fan, I'm going again for that game and have a few more friends wanting to go.
Don't feel too bad as the attendance problems are happening all over the Mac except maybe at Ohio this year. You guys obviously have it especially tough playing so close to UM country. I really was stunned at your success last year and thought you were turning a corner, which you deserve. I would really like to see a bowl game type year for emu so the fans would come back.

We struggle with it pretty bad too at wmu. Unfortunately the only thing that will cure it is winning consistently which we've been unable to do.
Army fans travel about as well as any non-AQ team, especially considering the distance to West Point. The main reason is that they have so many Army "alums" (ex-GI's) all over the country. I wouldn't expect huge numbers, but there will probably be more Army fans than there were UT fans, which is crazy considering how close Toledo is.

They don't have the size of most FBS teams, but they are relentless, and their offense just wears down your defense. Their QB Steelman is very impressive running that option. Very savvy and polished back there. You need great penetrating DL play and LB's that can cover side to side or they will gouge out big chunks of yards.

I'll never forget the Army pep band playing their fight song while the EMU marching band was in the middle of playing the Star Spangled Banner.
