And yet the Memphis fans are the most vocal about who should be in The Big East for football. Go figure. 01-wingedeagle

This is just to prove a point. Cincinnati, Rutgers, Louisville, USF, UConn, and Temple are in the Big East right now. They have a right to roll their eyes at a candidate. I am thinking Memphis should worry about themselves and keep their mouth shut. At this point in time you all should just be happy you are here.....
We are happy to be here, but we also know the sun is rising in the East and all is well. Be just a little patient with Memphis. The ship is already turning.

Many Memphis fans knew what we had at the beginning of the season and expected this. Many also believe this will no longer remain status quo in the seasons going forward and we are expecting great things. We are disappointed but we expected this.

Don't bother explaining the situation, obvious troll is obvious. WTR has an axe to grind with Memphis for whatever reason, so let's let him grind it, maybe if he continues with posts like this he'll get banned.
No offense to you MrMemphis but a few posters on here thinks they are a tad better than they actually are. Grow the product and then boast a little. Don't talk about how Army is crap and Fresno is crap and then go lost to them by 40.
WTR, why don't you go find some other team to troll, rather than a future conference mate? 01-wingedeagle

Yes we are crap at the moment, but doesn't mean we don't or shouldn't have an opinion. Memphis has a long way to go, but has turned the ship in the right direction and taking the baby steps toward improvement. 04-cheers
WTR, I'll make a point to look you up when Boise plays Memphis in basketball. I love pulling for Boise, but you're making it a little harder.

How many times do we have to say that we are NOT a football school nor have we ever been one and probably never will be. Our main income, bread and butter and fan following is with men's basketball.

This video should clarify that for you.

You're apparently not old enough to remember when we were both, in the late '50s and early '60s, good in both sports. Undefeated one year in football, nationally ranked, and regularly competitive with, and sometimes beating, SEC schools.

We actually peaked during the mid 2000's from 2003-2007 when we went to 4 bowl games during that stretch.

This thread is about Memphis football, not Boise State basketball.

Really? You Guys have had really decent Football teams before. You can and will do it again. It's all in the fans Mindset. Get out and support the team in the down years . Losing games brings out the will to Win. look at how many schools come back with winning records after being beatdown for a few seasons. A great non FB example is IU Basketball. Got Their Asses kicked for a few years now ranked preseason in top 5 in most polls. as the famous line goes "Get 'Er Done !"

It will come back, the mid to late 70's were great as well. Just going to take some time and money (which is finally being spent on the program). The OP just seems to have a complex about Memphis.

04-cheers
The OP is a football only member. Why would this surprise anybody? Boise finally moves up and they still have to play a program (or 2 or 3 depending on how Army, Navy, AF & Temple pan out) like UNLV & UNM. The whole partial membership thing will bring out these kinds of responses.

Pretty sure we agreed to play them in basketball.

Good point. However, I truly can not fathom being this low in football three years from now.
Why bring up hoops? I said in the opening statement Memphis football. Hoops does not effect my program so that is not my concern.
Its just some of you Memphis fellas seem to think you all have just waltz into the Big East and what you all say is way more important than anyone else.
Not quite true. And I seem to remember saying many positive things about Memphis. The punt return that beat Tennessee? I was there. And I told every Vol there he was not down even though his elbow was.
I seem to remember pulling for you guys the last 4 or 5 weeks and congratulating you for the win against Rice.
But it is hard to keep rooting for you when every time someone post anything Big East, you guys are the first to get nasty and tell people how dumb they are.
I spent a half an hour talking about Memphis, The Liberty Bowl, The old Pyramid, and Beale Street. I did nothing but praise the city. But unlike Louisville and Bearcat fans you all smack talking or talking down to a program is about the same as Idaho trying to talk smack to Oregon.

Then I would suggest you "call out" the one you think is talking smack and lay off the entire fan base.

Keep living in that weird little world of yours. Pretty sure most Memphis fans stick up for their program. We don't go out of the way to talk trash as you are suggesting, but I guess if you repeat it enough you'll actually believe it.
