The Playoffs start in 2014. The Big East will mostly want to get to 14 by 2014. If Navy refuses to move in 2014, do we drop them and add ECU and BYU?
Sadly the letters ECU popped up and the puppy slid under a tire.

They can travel more fans than Boise does. 05-nono

No. They accepted an invitation to the Big East for a 2015 membership and we should honor that. I would point out that Navy has a huge fan base, a national TV appeal, a solid name brand, and as many national championships (1) as BYU has and one more than ECU.

They also came on board and threw their weight behind the BE by giving up over a 100 years of independence at a time when the Big East was struggling to keep from going extinct. And I can guarantee you they will not be looking to bail for the B12 at every opportunity like BYU will.

I can't believe any of us would be willing to throw this honored academy under the bus now that it appears some might think we don't need them any more.

So more people can see them go 5-7 with a 30 point loss to Navy? My God. Get Holland on the phone!
Just means #14 wont' come on board until 2015 either....they won't set up an uneven division setup
Navy is going nowhere.
Come on Wilkie, seriously... are you kidding around with this thread? Little amusement on a Friday night? The Big East is not 'dropping' Navy and you know it.

Cheers.
I think Wilkie was the ECU president in a former life.
Not sure I understand the importance of whether or not we have a 14th team in 2014.
The BE and Navy have a deal for 2015 and will keep to it. It makes no difference long term to either. TV knows they are coming and can adjust the $$$ accordingly for the first 2 years. Odds are #14 also will start play in 2015.
Navy to the BE in 2015. Take that one to the bank. Let's worry who #14 will be instead of who to drop.
I'd prefer ECU over Navy....

BYU > Fresno > AF > ECU > Navy

I agree in principle, but they wanted all the service academies and only Navy accepted. Wouldn't look good now to rescind the offer. So Navy's in.

AF may yet decide to come over. I still think it's doubtful, but it's still possible.

I feel bad for Fresno. They haven't been mentioned, and I still think they make the most sense as the 14th. BYU is fine, but comes with strings. And Fresno would outperform the service academies imo.

Navy is looking good tonight with that Freshman QB. They are now at .500.

If BYU wants to come aboard in 2014 we will have uneven divisions. Its not that big a deal for one year. The Big-10 did an odd-numbered schedule for 20 years and the MAC has uneven divisions right now. Surely we could pull it off for one season.

You can't blame ECU fans for trying.

They will try ANYTHING to have ECU admit to Big East.

But the B10 wasn't trying to play a CCG under current NCAA rules.

They are really Jekyll and Hyde with that ****! On the realignment board they throw more hate toward the Big East than anyone and just bad mouth it over and over again.
Then they eventually break down and weep and try to understand the meaning of how it all went wrong.
I would not mind if ECU was in The Big East. But that would mean I would have to talk to their fans even more.
I would just assume stick with the academies before that happens.
