Didn't see anyone bring this up yet. But thanks to ACC games going to 8 instead of 9, it looks like there is an opening in UNC's schedule.

Edit: haha NM, didn't see the 2013 FB schedule page.
Officially official. October 12th in Chapel Hill

Is the game against Md already announced? A UMD writer is reporting we're playing them next year.
David Teel just tweeted Maryland will be playing ODU and FIU next season.
UMD is not officially announced yet. They need to drop a game (probably at Connecticut) to fit FIU and us.

No, UConn and WVU are the other 2 non-conference games. If there was anyone else, that was who got dropped.
And they confirmed 200 tickets for the band! It'll be a bit tight but we should be able to bring the full band! I'm excited.

FBS Schedules is showing a home game vs. Temple in addition to UConn and WVU. I figured buying out the away game would be their preferred route.
I heard Selig say it, but I missed the part about how many tickets for ODAF. I heard 500 for players/coaches/family, 200 for band, and ??? for fans?

if i read correctly, and i might be wrong, i think they're giving an allotment of 3500 tickets for odu to sell. i'd imagine we'd buy all of those.

"UNC will also give ODU 700 complimentary tickets, including 200 for its band, as well as 3,500 tickets to sell. Selig said he expects the school to sell many more tickets than 3,500."

Note from JMU fans on the zone: the seats in the Visitors Section suck.
Word is spreading fast that ODU will be replacing the Citadel next year and make the trip to Greenville and Dowdy Ficklen Stadium. I hope so, would rather play ODU than FCS lifer Citadel, plus IMO you'll bring more fans. I expect we will alot you 4,500 seats for the game if it goes throw.

As far as UNC goes, IMO their stadium sucks, the concourse is too small for 60K let alone the 54K they average. ODU at 20K is just as loud, not much in the way of tailgating at UNC either. The upper deck there has no real concourse, just a small walk way with smll concession stands that only have cold foods and drinks, all "hot" foods are on the main concourse. The setting is very tight. Getting to the stadium is a pain in the arse without a parking pass that is close to the stadium. The best bet is to park at the Friday Center and ride the shuttle.

BIG FYI, For you ODU fans planning already to go to that game and you get tickets threw ODU and are going to pick them up at will-call the day of the game, UNC's vistor will-call is at gate 1 and opens when the stadium opens the day of the game. Also, you DO NOT WANT a seat in the first 15 rows, the players, coaches, and other sideline personnel will block your view.

The vistors section(s) do suck, they are on the far end by the "blue zone" and the last two sections are actually past the endzone.
So... we should def be getting tickets through stubhub. Got it.
Here was my view from section 231 oppsite the vistor's section for the ECU v UNC game this year..........

No, just get them directly threw UNC, they don't sell out, their first game this year only had 50,000 tickets sold, leaving 12,993 unsold.

Go here:

pick you seat and section, plus the regular will-call opens 3-4 hours before kick off for pick-up and is located at gate 3.

I want to see ODU put something like 10,000 fans in their stadium.
Thanks for the info. I'm making arrangements.
Also, more on the ECU/ODU 2013 rumor, looks like we are trying to work on the Citadel to agree to play @ODU instead of ECU and ODU would then play @ECU. Basicly give you a home game for a game here and save the Citadel from having to find a dance partner for a game at the last minute. I think if they balk at the offer, we may just drop a few $$ at the door and play ODU anyway.

I like that plan. Major thanks to Terry Holland, he seems like one class act. He has helped ODU every step of the way so far in our transition to CUSA.
I heard UVA may do the same with VMI. They drop VMI to play ODU and in return VMI plays ODU. I take it these 1a other schools think ODU fans travel great!!!
