This could be a great feature for concession stands of UABs New On Campus Stadium. Any suggestions from readers of the forum would be quite interesting to hear about. Excellent food should be a top priority and quite a draw for the fans.

Here is a prime example of a fantastic hot dog that can be served with twenty five options of toppings....YUMMY!

If I am elected ruler I will place the following in the stadium

Full Moon BBQ
Milos
Papa John's Pizza
Fat Sam's
Taco Bell
Sneaky Pete's

Can't wait to walk into the new OCS bathrooms with this menu lineup.
How about a themed to our opponent dish for each game? If I didn't have to deal w/ the P&R Board, I'd run a stand to do just that along w/ std menu
Hell, I'd get giddy over functioning water fountains.
...isn't this kinda like choosing the drapes before you've built the house?

I truly hate to say it, but we will NEVER get a stadium approved by the BOT. Never.

Scuttlebutt among the faculty that I've heard is that Dr. Garrison was strongly encouraged to retire because she encouraged hope for a stadium rather than throwing cold water on it and keeping the issue tamped down.

We're FN screwed by this BOT, and I don't see it changing. All they care about is the money generated by the medical side. They will never do what's right for UAB football.

GORILLA is in denial.
agreed.
Once it's built we could serve crow to all that said it would never happen. 04-rock

If the city were to condemn Legion, what would we do???

FIFY

There once was a greatly revered cheating drunkard who was fond of houndstooth who said UAB would field a football team over his dead body, and that's pretty much what it took.

I'll be damned if I'll throw the word NEVER around a program that Gene Bartow built.
A Chicago-Style Polish Sausage Sandwich Stand with hot chocolate & coffee as part of the beverage menu for the cold games....I can count my $$$$$$ now! Too bad the ******* won't approve the place!
F___ the BOT. Lets quintuple the size of the stands at West Campus and build a 100' tall mound down the length of the other side and cover it in grass for the visitors side. Bring in portable vendor stations and build a couple of locker rooms. The BOT wants us to dumb down UAB football. I'm ready to oblige them and say FU in the process. If UAB got serious about moving out of Legion Field, the city of Birmingham might get serious about getting their $hit right.

Before y'all start poking holes in this, let me add, If we do this we can say, "It may not be much, but it's ours, and nobody can tell us what to do with it."

Best idea ever. Really. FUBOT. 04-cheers
Actually, doing that to West Campus would be a great idea. We've only got to get the capacity up to about 20k. Build a high school esg stadium on the visitor side. On the home side, build a double decker stand the length of the field. This could probably be done for 15m. Nicely done for that price. Wonder what kind of approval we would have to go through with the BoT for that?.?.
Last I heard the university was in the planning stage of moving the field back behind the current location and changing the orientation of west campus to a North-South instead of East-West ... we could push forward a stage 2 (or whatever # is next).
If it's going to be moved, that is a great time to add 17k seats to it and start playing football there. We put it in the budget as soccer field improvements, slide it past the BoT and be done with it.

I would be careful about talking about eating crow. The last time there as a lot of talk about eating crow, it was being said to the people who said that they didn't believe the BOT would approve the stadium plans last year.

Damn tough spot to be in for sure. Pitiful that Birmingham has not prepared for this eventuality. Their "alternatives" to Legion Field are below primitive & beyond pathetic, at best. I still contend that there is a motive behind the madness of the city sinking money into that place instead of tearing it down and building a new stadium somewhere else in town, since UAB is not going to get that OCS as long as this BOT is running the show (a year ago, I gave the ******** the benefit of the doubt, and look what it got me/us, their word means nothing to me now)...As the "Stranger With No Name" described the town of Lago as a place with a "short supply of guts", sums Birmingham's level of leadership up to a tee.

Fine with me. Sooner it were to be actually constructed, the sooner I purchase a pair of season tickets. Charlotte's new stadium will start out seating 15K, with potential for expansion in the near future. Darn thing costs 40.5 million. $5 million of that was raised by fans, boosters, local business, etc., their BOT covered the rest. That's called mutual support and cooperation, something those assclowns on the UAbot know nothing about! I'm sick of them!
