Interesting...
This all means nothing as Ohio is #26. Where did you find such convoluted rankings on the interwebs? And what's the criteria, listed alphabetically by height?

These young guys need to spend less time online and seek a life of debauchery.04-cheers
Ohio is #35 in the Sagarin Ratings that are used in the BCS formula.
The predictor is supposed to be more accurate if your betting on games.
That factors in margin of victory. The BCS doesn't use margin of victory.
As far as the BCS it didn't matter if Ohio beat UMass or Buffalo by 3 or 50. Just win baby, that is all that matters to the BCS computer rankings. Ohio is 35 in the computer and 31 in the coaches poll. Another couple weeks of six or more top 25 teams getting beat will help us even more.
Oregon State is 10th in the country. That means it doesn't take much to get into the top 12.
And for the other BCS components.

POLLS
The Harris poll has Ohio at 28th. Harris Interactive Bowl Championship Poll

The USA Today coaches poll has Ohio 31st.

COMPUTER RANKINGS
Anderson/Hestor computer ranking has Ohio 20th.

It's interesting how "non-biased" computer rankings can vary so greatly.03-lol
How is C-USA still rated ahead of the MAC and Sunbelt?

They aren't in Colley's and Anderson/Hester computer rankings.

Penn State has 4 FBS wins (Navy, Temple, Illinois,Northwestern)
Marshall has 1 FBS win (Rice)
New Mexico State has zero FBS wins so far.
Norfolk State not gonna help except for a easy W they gave us.
UMass has no wins of any kind
Buffalo has no FBS wins
Akron has no FBS wins
Miami has 2 FBS wins
BGSU has 2 FBS wins
EMU has no wins period
Ball State has 3 FBS wins
Kent State has 3 FBS wins

Ohio has 5 FBS wins the most of any team in the MAC, but Ohio's opponnets haven't beaten much so far.
And there we have it, you're still so wonderful but it's everyone else's fault
Which is ironic, because the reason Ohio was even mentioned as a possible BCS buster was because their schedule was soft. It wasn't because the national media suddenly thought they were a legit top 15 team.
I'll bite...
Arizona has 2 FBS wins (3 losses to ranked teams)
Wyoming has 1 FBS win (1 loss to ranked team)
Coastal has no FBS wins
BG has 2 FBS wins(1 loss to ranked team)
WMU has 2 FBS wins
CMU has 1 FBS win
EMU has no FBS wins
UC has 4 FBS wins
Buffalo has no FBS wins (1 loss to ranked team)
Ball State has 3 FBS wins (1 loss to ranked team)
NIU has 4 FBS wins
Akron has no FBS wins

Toledo themselves have 4 FBS wins.

Ohio is a Top 40 program playing an easy schedule.

We aren't a Top 20 program like Boise State yet but we are getting there with improved recruiting from all these wins.

I think you're a top 40 program because you play an easy schedule. Look at BG... their losses are Florida, VT, and Toledo. We don't know if they're a top 40 program yet.

I'm not so sure after the last two weeks if OU is better than some of the other teams in the MAC.

Well, there are other Top 40 programs in the MAC.

Maybe there are none, and we're blinded by our Big East and Big10 wins?
Maybe Kent, Toledo, OU, and NIU haven't beaten anyone worth squat... that's another way to look at it.
The sagarins I posted have us humble and beyond the top 50. We all might be getting ahead of ourselves.

+1
There must be 70 teams in the top 40. Sounds like Dick Vitale's NCAA tourney teams: he has 80 teams that belong in the field.

LOL...Vitale has never mentioned a college bball team negatively. The closest he's ever come is when a team faces NCAA penalties and he says something like "it's gonna be tough times at this University, but I know with so and so as a HC, they will come back strong and right the ship." (in so many words)

Every team is a "watch out, don't sleep on them" team.

So exhausting.

Today's Plain-Dealer:

Cupcake to flank steak: After opening the season with an upset of Penn State (4-2), Ohio has rolled against teams with a combined 10-25 record, and that includes 2-4 Football Championship Subdivision school Norfolk State. The next six opponents have a combined record of 14-21, and that includes the one-win Zips and winless (0-5) Eastern Michigan.
