Wasn't the Sun Bowl a major bowl at one point?
Greattttttttttttttt .......... Middle effin' Tennessee's RB was the Allstate player of the week. I can't even escape Grohmentum watching Southern Cal and Utah.

Yes. Relatively. It's still a solid bowl.

The only older bowls are the Rose (1901), Orange & Sugar (1934) so yes, at one time the Sun was a major bowl.
Benny Cunningham had an awesome game. Hope he does it again against ULM.

Hey, you'd better hope MT wins out; that way the loss won't be as extremely difficult to swallow. Haha.
'Cuse and Pitt play in 4hrs. Somehow we're favored.

McNeese State has already made sure the loss is impossible to swallow. The only silver lining is it was probably the end of Al Groh, barring the 1985 Chicago Bears appearing out there on defense.
And FFS burn those uniforms and helmets. 03-pissed
What was the Copper Bowl? Or did I make that up

At least we've played football teams...

I think it's evolved now into the Insight Bowl(and I think it changed it's name again this year actually). It's the 2nd bowl in Phoenix.
It has. It's now the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

The first 8 years of it's existence it was the Copper Bowl, then it became the Insight Bowl shortly after the Fiesta Bowl folks took over management.
For the love of all that is holy and just please be a close game .... because if it isn't, it will turn into one giant ACC bash fest from SECSPN.
ESPN says good crowd on hand ... and the kickoff pans through a half empty stadium.

If you picked Wake to win at UMD, does this make you rethink that?
Longtime VT announcer Bill Roth is a Syracuse communications alum. He also grew up in Pittsburgh.
LOL @ Pitt mascot on that Cuse punt where they kicked the ball ahead. "C'monnnnnn mannnnnnnn"
I would ask how in the world VT managed to lose to Pitt, but I have my own unanswered questions along those lines. Man this conference is just plain bad. Watch us beat Clemson tomorrow. I'll be there, rooting first and foremost for a new defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.
Well at least recruits aren't watching Pitt play tonight!

I think this kid plays on Pitt's O-line. The messed up thing is most of these guys were 4 star recruits! 03-nutkick
