Great to see even though initially NIU doesnt benefit too much. But if NIU starts winning that should change! NIU @ WMU to be picked up by STO in mid Feb!

Wow or Comcast does not carry STO on ANY package in my area (Dupage County).

It seems that if you live in Illinois and you don't have dish then you can only watch those STO games at home on the MAC online streaming site.
Even in the best of times (insert pun here) the MAC TV package ignored NIU. It's an Ohio service (STO). They throw a scrap or two to the Michigan schools and whatever is left goes to NIU. Comcast does pickup the STO games although usually on a delayed basis later at night. The only way NIU gets any decent coverage is when they play in Ohio but the current state of affairs probably has STO looking at other games. Maybe in a year or so.

I guess I go to the home games, so I wouldn't know about those, but it seems like I've been able to watch every away game we've had the last few years. I can't remember a game I wasn't able to watch either on TV or ESPN3. The coverage has been great in my opinion.

I believe all games are streamed live on the MAC website. I know I watched most away games on there even though they were not on TV.
NIU might (stretch) benefit for recruiting, but this is meaningless from a NIU fan perspective.

+1

At a minimum all of the non-ESPN MAC games can be watched on the MAC streaming site. Not sure about the ESPN games.

It would be great if they could get that MAC stream in HD.

That's not necessarily true. I don't know if it's because of the relative strength of the MAC East in basketball but I have rarely had the opportunity to see Toledo on STO because of MAC East games on the channel instead. In fact, I've been able to see Buffalo play more than I have Toledo (unless I'm just tuning in at bad times). I don't think NIU is slighted any more than Toledo on that channel.

But for those of you that have AT&T U-Verse, STO is on channel 735 and I switched from Comcast to U-Verse a couple years ago when it became available on the northside and I'll never go back. If it is available in your area, I'd recommend it.

It's also on DirecTV with the expanded sports package. I am usually able to see one Huskie away BB game per year on STO - a very good network (for Ohio). On rare occasions, STO or some local channel will televise a game from the Convo. Last year, Ball State TV was there.
