We have two weeks to prepare for Nova. Hopefully the defense well improve by then.
Villanova demolished Maine today, who was a playoff team last year. Neither team has beaten anyone of much importance as of yet. And they go against Richmond next week, which should be a good measuring stick. Can't let this game slip by us.

EDIT: richmond.
Villanova plays Richmond next week. In their game vs. Maine there were a total of 3 flags thrown (all on VU).
Ahh... It's villanova. we own Villanova.

Petey Sessoms should be the honorary coin flipper or team captain for the game!04-cheers
I wasn't sure what to think of this game at the start of the season, but now I think it's a barometer for our success this season. This Villanova team is not keen on being pushed over, and they've had some success this season to prove it. The two weeks before the game are defensive-improvement weeks. Villanova threatens to chew us up if that doesn't happen.
ODU 55. VU 28

Different opponent, same result

Unless we stop committing fouls and giving up in the second half, I see nova scoring at least 35 on us. Their QB is deadly with his feet, which is not good for us. I think we win, but this is not the same team we smoked last year in Philly.
Student Tickets have already sold out.

They went on sale at 10 this morning. (9 if you are a Monarch Maniac)
Im def trying to find 2 more for some friends to come to the game with me.
I couldn't ever sign in to the damn student ticket website. friggin thing kept crashing. definitely sucks.
Student tickets sold out quickly.
If V'nova turns tickets in to ODU, there should let the students get another crack. It's their team, their homecoming and they're footing a huge part of the bill.

Yeah, that won't happen.

Uh, homecoming isn't for the students. It's for alumni.
If anyone is looking for tickets to any game, you have to cruise through the lots closest to the Stadium. It is simple deduction that those lots have the best opportunities.
Top donors have the ability to buy more tickets. More tickets means more opportunities that they are not all spoken for. And most top donors won't be looking to make a buck on the tickets. Face value is the usual deal.
About time for some more speculation about this weekend's game against Villanova, I suppose. Hopefully the BYE week was an effective detoxification for our afflicted defense. Offense should be well-rested, only question is how revved up they will be for the game. I suspect they might be a little slow out of the gate after downtime, but ideally they won't miss a down.

Our secondary needs to be sharp from the first whistle, though.
'Nova QB Robertson is coming off of a 3 INT game, and if the defensive line is able to put some pressure on him there may be opportunities for the secondary to capitalize.
Oh, and he lost a fumble as well. If we get to him, we need to hit him. Hard.

Robertson also rushed for 117 yards on 18 carries, the longest being 41 yards. I know we've had some defensive problems against scrambling quarterbacks, so he could prove problematic.

As always, our defense could keep Villanova in the game no matter how many points the offense puts up. If they perform like I know they have the potential to, this game could be over in our favor by the end of the 1st Quarter. If an NC is our goal, we need to start displaying something resembling an NC-caliber defense.
Yes lets give the students more tickets so 1. they won't show up and 2. Leave when we get two scores down.
I will say I'm not as worried as i was before seeing their performance against Richmond but that said i hope we don't sleep on them either. Hope for a Campbell type game and not a New Hampshire type one.
Scrambling QBs have always killed us. I'm nervous.
