passed. $70 additionally once Southern gets an FBS invite. I guess the eagles are serious about moving up to the next level.
Go grab 'em Karl.
Yep, get them and App. St. and we can forget the bad decisions from this week.

With (9,390) 55% of students voting, the biggest student vote turnout.

70.4% voted and $25 increase to add 6,000 seats to stadium.
61.2% voted an $75 increase to go into affect when Georgia Southern joins an FBS conference.
Still needs to go through the Board of Regents for approval however.
The next to be invited is Georgia Southern. App State will probably come along too. Matter of time before they announce it.
Im just glad we can put to rest the whole "Georgia Southern is not ready" nonsense. Once the BOR rubber stamps it I'm waiting on the call from Benson.
Biggest vote since liquor by the drink in 1997??
I don't see how they aren't invited. I get the logic of a 10 team conference. But a 12 team could split into divisions and would help even more with travel cost.
Sounds like the students are on board.

Is the BOR too?

If so and this passes then I think we need to grab Appy and GSouth PDQ.

With the new playoff criteria and the 7th BCS bowl for those of us "Left Behind" a championship will be pretty important. I belive the seclection committe said they would put additonal weight behind a clear cut confrence champion.

It's a date Sally! Can't wait.
Great day to be an Eagle!! It's amazing what a difference Dr. Keel has made in two years. Previous administration refused to increase student fees, would not allow a public campaign for football buildings... between now and kickoff 2013 we should have a 57,000sqft football ops endzone building with new jumbotron, mid deck for 6300 more seats, as well as a budget to put us in the upper half of SBC.

Lot to look forward in the coming years!!!!!

HAIL SOUTHERN!!!!!!

I'm an alum and current Grad Student at GS, voted yes on all three and went to the press conference today. Coach Monken and President Keel were beaming. You could tell they were proud. No more excuses now, let's get this done. I'm anxious to join the SBC.
Good to hear. Come on down Southern! 04-cheers

Awesome, wish I was in the boro this weekend, sure to be a great turnout tomorrow evening
Not sure about this. Would have been great to add Ga Southern had Ga State and Texas State not been added.

Sun Belt, forever a moveup conference? 03-banghead
Georgia Southern and App. State are great programs and have longstanding football traditions and support. Compared to the moves last year you can't criticize the thought of those two moving up.

Hey, App. St. fans, any news on you guys possible making the move?
