WMU LB Desmond Bozeman not only was awarded the MAC West Defensive Player of the Week. He was also named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.

Bozeman had a career high 12 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. He caused and recovered a fumble and returned it for 58 yards and his first career TD.

Quite a day and nice to see him get recognized.

Great to see the shout outs to the MAC.
Sports Illustrated was in Athens last week doing some kind of story on Ohio football. Have no idea the angle.

Why do they continue to compare us to Boise? Haven't they seen our weak OOC schedule?

No idea. Looking back to 2006 and including this year's records BSU is 77-7 (4 conf championships) and OU is 53-32 (0 conf championships). And that is giving OU the benefit of the doubt by going back to where your current string of successful seasons dates back to.

OU is no Boise.
Go AKRON!! Beat Ohio!

I agree that its a ridiculous comparison but they're not comparing Ohio today to Boise today, they're comparing Ohio today to Boise 2002. Its about potential, not actual production.

And let's not make Boise's OOC out to be something mythical. Go back and look, its usually 1 beatable BCS team and 3 cupcakes.
Of course we are no Boise, we are also really good at basketball.

LOL

.
Even as a Miami fan- I think an article like this is awesome (I haven't read it- but I assume it is positive)

When Marshall joined the league and was really good- it forced other teams to get better and keep up- by 2003 we had a really good league- then coaches left, Marshall left and we fell back a bit

Things I think are on the up swing again and if Ohio makes it into the top 25 that's great

I still want Miami to crush them on the 27th, but I think this is great pub for Ohio and the league

+1

Yeah, you'd think people would until Ohio has actually accomplished something before anointing them the Boise State.
Really nice article. Bobcat fans ought to be proud. Hope to see who's the better team at Ford Field in December.
According to a couple of the UB Twitter accounts I follow, sounds like Sports Illustrated was on campus yesterday doing something with Khalil Mack.. Great that the league is getting all this press.

Yep, Boise started their undefeated seasons with one fairly strong team and a bunch of cupcakes. That helped them build their program and a bigger following and it snowballed from there. As they continued to build their team, they started to schedule a little stronger and a little stronger until they got to where they are today. I think Solich's plan is working out just fine for him.

Clearly this should be a feature on the University of Toledo, not Ohio, if only because the Bobcat fans continue to expect this response and because we've beaten OU 139 times in a row.

Toledo? Ohio? Only Jamie Farr can tell the difference.

Yeah, if it wasn't for that whole rural vs urban, flatland versus hilly, southeastern versus northwestern, Jamie Farr versus, well, nobody thing they would be the same school.

And it sounds like sour grapes to say OU is no Boise. OU didn't beg SI to write the article or make the comparison and I remember darn fewSI features re:MAC teams over the years. I'm thrilled by the exposure.
