Watching games I want to see on my iPad, w/ great resolution, is very cool.

I would love it too...

...If I could get ESPN3.

Ditto.
Can someone explain this to me? Last week during the BG-UT game, some posters on the UT board and also some on the BG board were saying they don't get espn3 and I told them just go to ESPN3.com and scroll down to the game. For some reason, they said something about their carrier but I don't understand how if you have the internet, you can't log onto espn3.com and watch it, regardless of who provides your tv programming. Can someone please explain this to me because I am confused on it. Thanks in advance!
to get ESPN3 you have to have your internet and cable through one of the specified providers. For example, I have Time Warner Cable for my internet service provider but my TV is through Dish Network. Currently Dish is not an ESPN3 provider but TWC is. I called TWC to see if I can access ESPN3 and they said no because I don't have both internet AND TV provided by them. I told them to bite me.
Half of the MAC games I want to watch are blacked out, if the games are on ESPN U... for example half of the country was blacked out for the Buffalo vs. Kent State game.

You should try it anyway, they just asked for my ISP logon. Never know for sure, it might work.

Anyway, just curious about this scenario: say I take my iPad to a free wifi hotspot, and I'm not using my ISP...can I still access ESPN3?
W/o signing into my Comcast account, I only get a subset of the games I could using WatchESPN. ESPN3 content was apparently adjusted just before the football season started to be restricted by your IP.

But, staying with the thread's theme, I love ESPN3 too. I watch replays any time I can. I've had 4 games on at once on some Saturdays.

I tried, it asks for your log on info for your inline account with your provider, that log in is what is used to determine access. So that extent you can use your ipad anywhere as it is not tied to your ISP.

Thanks to ESPN3 I actually get to see Toledo play against Coastal Carolina. Never thought I would be able to see it because that game is not going to be on TV, but it is on ESPN3, believe it or not.
yeah, my internet provider (time warner) blocked espn3. i had to also order their cable tv package to get it to come through. pissed me off so much i didn't do it for a year, but eventually gave in as they are the only internet provider in my neighborhood and espn3 has a lock on mac broadcasts.
A lot of the games I've wanted to watch have been blacked out so far this year. Some of them blacked out over most of the country.

It has worked for me in Columbus, Dayton, and Springfield.
I have my telephone, TV and Internet with Charter in Michigan. I have had ESPN3 for some time and have been very happy with the service. The video quality has improved over time. With the wide screen monitor I have for my desktop computer it's almost like watching my TV when I expand the image. It's a great, great service. A big thumbs up to ESPN.
I like that ESPN3.com. picked up more games after each team had an opportunity to buy air time elsewhere.

I don't like games being selected for ESPN3.com before we have a chance to buy real TV time.

Our Wisconsin and Army games last year and Kansas game this year all picked for ESPN3.com

It would have been a great opportunity for us to put those games on CSN-C while letting ESPNGP/+/3.com piggyback the production.
