my mislead friend...Jerry Green was a "hot" hire from Oregon. All he did was lead them to 4 straight NCAA appearances, an SEC title and a top 10 ranking. He left (worst UT AD decision ever) with a .712 win% and the most NCAA appearances under one coach. Go Vols.
This is a great hire for UT. Pearl is a heck of a coach.
I'm excited...he'll run a fun offense and a hectic defense. Go Vols.
You fired Green!!!!!! :stupid: He didn't leave.....you fired him :bang: You had your coach...you lost your coach  Buzz couldn't recruit and he had all the ACC ties

I know this...thus the "worst AD decision ever" statement. I probably should have said fired, but used left...it can mean so many things. why are you so worried about little ole UT bball?
UTK has a great tradition!!

It is just fun to watch the UTK people in Memphis just trying to hide when it comes to basketball (men's). It is like Tiger baseball :bang: there is no reason why we do not have a competitive team at Memphis but we haven't in a long time just like it makes no reason why UTK can't produce a NCAA team. It is your only weak spot :crying: so you dig into any wound you can. Looking forward to November - DeAngelo just got names Playboy All-American.
the problem is, most of those UT fans in Memphis probably are just "fans" b/c UT is winning in certain sports and they're bandwagoneers. My guess is, they never went to UT, never been to Knoxville, never game a dime to UT and follow the Vols b/c "it's the thing to do". Don't get me wrong, I like seeing UT becoming a bandwagon team, but I hate when those fans make other UT fans and UT look bad b/c their bad mouthing other schools. Those same fans don't give two hoots about UT bball b/c their probably only associated to UT b/c they're a UT football "fan". I hope we can build our bball program back to where Jerry Green was taking it or where it was during the Ray Mears era. Go Vols!
