Dumb all around. That's another 9 hours where everyone not hosting a regional has to wait to order tickets/get hotels/time off work etc. for events that start the Thursday of that week.
Beyond stupid. A Sunday afternoon championship? That just screams snooze fest and zero fun.
Half the fun is getting drunk and enjoying Downtown Detroit.
The last 2 years the woman and I made a nice getaway weekend out of it. Stayed in hotels Friday and Saturday night. Hit up Greektown and watched hockey.
If we're back in Detroit this season, we won't be staying the night or going out before/after the games.
I'm at least lucky enough that I live close enough to go down for the game and drive back
So the CCHA get's its Swan Song as "that conference" that holds up the NCAA Selection Show? Eff that!
Probably because they already know UM wont make the finals and so don't want to show them playing a meaningless 3rd place game.
Or, because MSU made it into the National Tournament without even getting to the 3rd place game, it's a way of hiding something like that.
It's probably something even dumber like "Saturday March 23rd is the end of the financial year for the CCHA offices. By existing on the 24th, everyone gets another year's pay."
