North Texas may have lost to Kansas State this weekend, but the Mean Green's respectable showing vs. a top-25 team was enough to impress our voters. North Texas jumped three spots from its previous ranking and is the highest ranked non-Big 12/SEC team in our poll.

This week’s full poll can be found below.

1. Texas (10) — 109

2. TCU (1) — 95

3. Texas A&M — 86

4. Baylor — 78

5. Texas Tech — 72

6. North Texas — 40

7. SMU — 38

8. Rice — 34

9. UTEP — 31

t-10. Houston — 8

t-10. UTSA — 8

(Also receiving votes: Texas State (6))
So how is 0-3 Houston higher then Texas St? What a joke.

Maybe it's because Texas Tech literally ran you out of your own stadium this past weekend.
Houston should not be tied with UTSA, and above Texas State.........

UTSA has 3 wins. Houston has 0.

utsa wins are against Tx A & M Commerce, Georgia State, and So. Alabama(a decent win for the birds).
Mean Green are putting on a good season so far, looking like a tough team.

Plus we beat Houston. It's probably due to the bye week, though.

This has us at #11.

I'm sorry.. UTSA is winning but they're playing an FCS OOC. Actually, worse than an FCS OOC.

I know, I know, they're new and all but if you are going to include them in an FBS ranking/poll (which they technically are not) consider the competition.

A loss to a Big 12 school is expected. Fact is we owned Houston in their stadium. What's UNT or UTSAs quality win this year?

Thanks to poor Savannah State (84-0)in week 1. Remember, they did lose in week 2.

Is UH a quality win?
Ordinarily I'd say, "well, UNT went up against two, top 15 teams in LSU and Kansas State and that's why we have only one win this season".

Nope. Like our Coach McCarney says, (paraphrasing), it doesn't matter who the two loses were against, a loss is still a loss. In other words, unlike previous UNT coaches, McCarney expects to win regardless of who we play. I like that.

So, yes, North Texas is 1-2. I still like our chances for a very successful season.

Savannah State didn't beat Troy, let's see what happens this weekend. Save your lame smack until after you win against an FBS program. Then you can celebrate an actual win rather then how well you hung with K-State in another loss.04-chairshot
