Just as stupid not kicking a FG on 4th and 10. Is your kicker really that bad? It should basically be a tie game.

He had missed 1 short field goal, and one extra point that bounced off the upright. I think you still have to try the FG there. What do you do next week? The week after that? Go for it on every 4th down?

The question is where he finds such consistently horrible kickers.

its one thing to bench a 5th year senior but now the coach contributes to a head case for his new freshman kicker. He missed one kick, made one then hit the goalpost on an XP and suddenly he's gone. Now what? Very bad coaching move on several levels. That lack of confidence in Tate will come back to haunt us later and I really don't think it was deserved.

Was it the same kicker who missed in the FL game?

We had a fan kick an extra point during a timeout contest. Clawson was on the phone to him shortly after the game ended seeing if he'd consider transferring.
