I am thinking 27,800
Home opener
We're 1-1
We covered both games
BG is 1-1 with two hard fought games
7:00pm start

What do you guys think?

Do you think covering the game spread affects attendance? (I'm genuinely curious, I have never considered that.)

I think your estimate is probably spot on. For casual fans, it looks like we almost beat Arizona (although they beat themselves) and took care of Wyoming. It'll be the first game so the students will be out in full force. ...for the first half as usual. 03-banghead

I'm still not really comfortable with the UT-BG game not being during rivalry week (why did they do this, btw? Anyone know?), either way, I'm still coming back in to town and will be there rooting for UT anyway! 04-rock04-cheers04-rock
Will that count support staff? If not, you have to factor in the farmhands that tend to BG's cheer squad.

No not realy in betting terms, but we were suppose to lose to Arizona by more than we did, and lose to Wyoming too. So we're above par in spread terms. Plus UA just demolished Oklahoma State!
Having the game early on a saturday is a nice change of pace. i'd still prefer it on a saturday in late october or early november, but the mac has sold its late season scheduling to espn for balcony seats to sportscenter and lee corso's sense of humor

Corso is an acquired taste but I have to admit, I've acquired it.

If it's a Sunny but coolish Saturday, it will be near perfect for me. Better if the colors are changing because the view from my seats (meaning, WAY up there) is nice.
At first I thought the Rockets v. Falcons in Week 3 was a real head scratcher. The more I think about it the more I think this is exactly when the game should scheduled.

There are a lot of really good rivalries in week 3. For example; Michigan/Notre Dame. I've been to that game in both Ann Arbor and South Bend. I've also gone to OSU v Michigan game (only in Ann Arbor). If I had to choose which game I think is most fun, I'd spend my hard earn money on on UM/ND every single time. It's way more fun with a lot less effort and hassle.

Anyway... the Glass Bowl will be "Rockin" (pun intended) on Saturday. I see an overflow student section and a solid contingent of BG fans making the trip--solidifying the Glass Bowl's reputation the MAC's best game day atmosphere.
Is the game going to be covered anywhere?

We have Temple to thank for this, I hear. When they deserted, they also threw all of our schedules into the woodchipper.

Thanks Owls.
Ya know, BG is an experience that the students should be involved with. Day before/after Thanksgiving is not giving them this opportunity... This is an improvement.
Close to 29,000. Rockets opened at a 6.5 point favorite.
30,000 and rockets win in a nail biter. They can thow the ball and play decent defense. Our student turnout will be excellent and the weather as of now looks perfect. Buckeyes at noon, who cares about Umass mich game, this adds up to a big crowd. Good coverage by the media will jack it up even more. I like it played early.
I love it being played early in the year as well!!! Packed House, Students out in force, maybe even for most of the game, since it is BUGS!!! Attendance for the last game of the year was poor. This game should and needs to be played when people will show up. Go Rockets!!! Oh yeah, I am hoping for close to 30K, anything less than capacity will be disappointing!!!
Still 3,500 tickets left according to a Rocket Report post. Don't expect that many BG fans.
