The Big Come Get Some.

I'm good with a name change. The Big East just doesn't make any since any longer.

I still submit "The Continental Conference"
the "BEaST"

That's a tweak. Not a full name change. Could just what we need
The Big Everywhere. Still the BE for short.
The Big Cheese.
The Big EastSouthWest.
To reflect that we're now a national conference: Conference USA 03-lmfao

TBC: The Big Conference

As a recovering WoW player. No.
The American Conference. With the Colonial (east) Division and the Frontier (west) Division. It's not that imaginative, but it can't be ridiculed like the ACC and Big 10 divisions. And people will be able to remember "Colonial" & "Frontier"; unlike the other conferences' divisions.

Or just give the naming rights to BYU if they agree to join.03-lmfao
I still think it will simply be something like "Big American Football of the Big East Conference" The Big East will retain its name in all sports except football.
Keep the name Big East. More fodder for ESPN to zero in on the "Big 5" myth. Missouri and Texas A&M are not in the SouthEast. Once we get the "Big 6" back on everyone's tongue we can think about a name change.
Continental Conference
Colonial Division
Frontier Division

or

Big Metro Conference

or

Super XVI
If anyone knows anything about the AFC then they will remember that the Jets were the Titans before. The reasoning behind the name being the Titans is because a Titan is bigger then a Giant.

I kind of think we need to think like that. What ever sounds bigger and tougher then "Big" I say we use. Or we could just simply use "The Beast Conference".

BIG EAST
NATION

Either that or leave the name alone and emphasize the BEast moniker from here on out. Another poster mentioned this awhile back. Nabisco is a famous nationally known company, but there is no Mr Nabisco that formed the company. Actually, Nabisco was a moniker formed from the firms original name---National Biscuit Company.

BIG EAST NATION

You might be on to something there....

hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm....BIG EAST NATION (thats exactly what the new conf would be) or just BIG NATION.

BEN....Big Ben?? (nickname)

PS. Still like selling the names of the 2 football divisions...especially since there won't be a clean North vs South...or East vs West....so why not get FEDEX, Cocoa-Cola, etc...involved...and make a few million per year....as some conferences with DUMB divisional names (legends/leaders...coastal and whatever in ACC) aren't making those conf a dime.

Aresco seems to want to BLAZE a new trail...bring in $$$$ at every opportunity...I say SEIZE THE DAY!

I like this idea. Kentucky Fried Chicken is now just KFC. We could be Big East Nation, or "Big BEN" for short, lol.

Only for football, though. Big East in basketball means something. And we still don't go past Texas. Close enough, considering the changes in all the other conferences.
I bet the conference will stay the Big East for all sports but football. That is the little hint I got from the article.
