Inmy neck of the woods it is.

UNI 21

Maryland 7
W&M 6 (3rd string QB)

Tenn-Martin is beating Memphis

Wake Forest 20
Liberty 17

Ole Miss came from behind to beat Central Ark.

To be fair, I selected certain games for obvious reasons but it shows that there are several FCS schools that would be very competitive in the SBC. This doesn't take into account what these FCS schools could do with additional scholarships.

Your question was about the Sunbelt..I dont give a rats ass about the rest of those scores. Except for MT, The rest of us took care of business, a few of us in a big way...

Theres a reason this thread was put in the sh*tter before you got your first response.

Get lost.

I started this thread HERE, douche bag. The point is, those other conferences are superior to the SBC and some of them had a hell of a time with us lowly FCS teams.

All other FBS conferences/CAA/Big Sky/SoCon > SBC

Nice win over Lamar...you must be very proud. What an accomplishment.

Hey EL Douche, it isn't an accomplishment because Lamar is just a FCS team. HAHA, you last statement throws off your entire point that FCS=SBC. You diminshed a UL win over a FBS team. A big difference between FBS and FCS are the academic standards.

What? William and Mary is a very highly rated academic institution. There a ton of FCS schools that have very high academic standards. Furman, Elon, Wofford, Davidson, Delaware just to name a few.

That is a ridiculous statement.

Gawd you're a d**kweed. You play the cards( see what I did there?) you are dealt. We dropped 40 on em in the first half.. cleared the benches in the second. Your point is stupid, because all you are doing is trying to start some sh*t..

Your right, you need to spell it out because it appears that is the only way anyone is going to understand what you are saying.

Are you inferring that the Mighty U of L is some big time academic school????? Or are you inferring that FCS academics are better?
Yes, it is. Do the top to bottom comparison. UL, Troy, WKU, FIU, FAU, and Arkansas State are better than in order Ga. Southern, App, Furman, Wofford, Chattanooga and Elon. The comparison is silly, ridiculous and not really that close.
Just stop it Jawja Suthan/Bill and Mary guys. You're butthurt that you're getting left, and the jealousy does bring forth criticism.

btw, I have a friend who's an assistant coach for one of the teams at ETSU, according to this friend the new president over there will bring back football. You hearing the same?

If it happens, I certainly will be on here demanding an invite to the Sun Belt and claiming it's not fair that others got invites when we got passed over.
I'll call it, impressionist butthurt.

Aww you're so presh trying to smack talk something that's pathetically weak that we all know about.
Seriously though, stop the comparisons, the caliber of athlete that is recruited to FBS teams vs. FCS teams are completely different, not to mention the 20 plus additional scholarships FBS schools have.
All smack, poking the bear aside, what Ga. Southern has done at the FCS level has been good, but the level is inferior.
Just to explain it further because you guys don't get it, look at Marshall. When they moved up years back, in the time leading up to it they ensured they would be competitive by taking in transfers from FBS schools. Keep in mind, Randy Moss had washed out at Notre Dame/FSU, Eric Kresser has been demoted to 7th string at Florida, etc... so when they transitioned to the MAC in those early years, they not only could compete, hell they won! A couple of coaches later and that gravy train of talent ran out after they transitioned to C-USA, they've had some issues.

On average yes but right at the cutoff lower FBS teams and upper FCS teams are fighting for the same recruits. It all depends on the recruit but a lot will choose to go to the better FCS school where they have a chance to win, play in front of an excited fanbase and play in a playoff for a national title. The depth from the extra scholarships you can't get around though.

I don't know if I'd say "a lot" will choose to go to the better FCS school. In the last five years or so we might have had two guys choose to go FCS over us and we've had a couple that were FCS commits that switched the day we offered, it certainly does happen, but "a lot"?

Marshall won the MAC six straight years after leaving the SoCon, I'm not sure how you can claim they lived off 1-A transfers. That would have lasted maybe two years, not six. The coaching changes had more to do with it than the move from 1-AA to 1-A. That can happen to any program at any level.
They had a ton of forward momentum from that. Probably three years worth of transfers then hit it out of the park with Ahmad Bradshaw (He had the biggest legs of any 16 year old I've ever seen in high school). It's the old winning breeds more winning deal, but it catches up to everyone eventually.
Keep that in mind...
Ok I'll give you three years, but even that is a stretch. Again they won it six years straight.

It comes down to the coaches and administration keeping a good thing going. Everyone can fall into the trap that happened at Marshall it has nothing to do with being 1-AA or 1-A.
