Down goes Boise.

Even with rookie QB and three first half turnovers Sparty wins. Outgained BSU 500-200.

Only other Top 80 team Bronchos play is BYU.
Le'veon Bell play liked a Heisman in that game, and Sparty's defense looked championship-worthy. I dunno if it's Maxwell or his receivers that are terrible, but they need to fix something in their passing game.

The whole game was sloppy. Boise played well for losing so many starters...but the whole thing was just plain...sloppy
They had 6 players drafted last year, including 2 in the first round. They return 5 starters, lowest in D1. They'll probably lose 1-2 more games, even with their awful schedule. If they had joined the Big East this year, they may have gone 7-5.
This was by no means last year's Boise State team. Sparty looked dismal at times.
Got to agree. Had MSU not turned it over so much early, I thought a blowout was in the works. Boise impressed me with their tough mindset and ability to stay in the game.
The ACTUAL final score was Le'veon Bell 17 - BSU 13. Not sure that the rest of the MSU offense showed up.
All Bell.
Bell was the entire MSU offense, but they've also got a quality D. They held Boise State to 200 total yards and only 37 rushing yards. God I wish we had a defense like that...we would be unstoppable...
Either way Boise State is moving to the Big East and their previous seasons can't be ignored.
Uh, ok.
What do you mean OK? Losing to MSU doesn't mean anything to them. They're still on their way to becoming a powerhouse.
Losing to MSU means plenty. They will get almost no coverage the rest of this season. They get one season in a BCS conference before the system changes and their conference gets demoted because it has one "have" from the 1998 BCS remaining. The new system is a serious blow to access from non-"big 5" conferences (bowls get direct choice of teams with little or no requirements, no limit on # of teams from conferences, committee picking playoff while making noise about SOS mattering) in exchange for slightly larger paychecks.
As long as MSU is a B10 title contender, and Boise beats BYU & Southern Miss, and goes on their way to win their conference -- being a 1 loss team is BCS-bowl potential.

However, I don't think Boise is that good. They were lucky to have a lead on MSU for as long as they did, or even at all really. MSU was beating them in the trenches and you can see that on paper. Boise's QB is not good (at least for many games he won't be).

They're going to probably have 3, maybe 4 losses this regular season. They won't end the season ranked (but have some votes; hovering right over #30).
That was a Boise State team in name only... Losing 13 starters, 6 to the NFL and of course the glue for that entire offense is now sitting on our Lions bench.... Check the recruiting sites and you'll see in a hurry that Boise still isn't in the position to just reload... lots of 2 and 3 star kids.
State has the same problem Boise does. being so highly ranked with brand new QB's....
