Looks like ODU might be headed to Washington or UCLA for some football next season. I've already earmarked funds for Frisco. Now I'm planning for a West Coast non-conference game. Can't wait!
where are you hearing this?
We are having a hard time scheduling for next year and may have to take what we can get.

Impending Move Has Monarchs Scrambling To Book
I was hoping we would have an easy transition, possible first losing season next year.
Losses? Sure. But I'm not banking on a losing season yet until I see the schedule. I have faith in the staff to put a competitive product on the field.
Not that I would put money on it, but either of those are beatable most years and I'm surprised either would be willing to play us.
I'd like to play Washington. I know that the Band Director graduated from there, and I'm sure he'd love to bring at least a bit of the band and show off what he's done.
That would be cool if we got Washington... I might actually be able to swing that and stay with friends.

UCLA is definitely not the Bruins of old, definitely a winnable game...not too sure about UW's recent gridiron prowess...I remember our bball battles at scope

I don't see why we can't get those 6 away?
Devyanks, nice work! I'd think we'd want to pick up as many of those future CUSA opponents as feasible. Would make for some familiarity in '14 & '15. I'd be ecstatic for a Pitt or Syracuse game!
HT to Devyanks.

For the long trip of the season, I like the idea of playing Army at West Point. Since they're an independent, it could be scheduled late in the season when many of the available teams are in conference play. We are recruiting heavily in NY, so maybe it could help those efforts become even more fruitful.
We've got quite an interesting flow of information here. I hope we can get Tulane, Georgia State, Kentucky, and Memphis at least. All winnable games, against teams from CUSA, Sunbelt, SEC, and nBE respectively. UCLA or Washington would be interesting as well, although a bit more of an escalation (especially UW). Wilder's choice in scheduling is part of what has built this team into a contender fairly quickly, and I trust his judgment for the transition seasons.
Nice list devyanks90, that's worth a +1.

One thing we have going for us is the realignment, it has caused a few school to need a game.
Nice work.
I actually contacted them this morning because so of the schools have hug gaps in the 2013 schedule. They said they try to be as accurate as possible, but guarantee nothing.
Gonna end up being VERY tough to fill an entire schedule out for our upcoming year. We will most likely have to pay some extra FCS teams to come to us or maybe even a d2 team because most teams schedules are already filled.

An unfortunate setback/side effect of being forced into making a sudden move up to big boy football. Wouldn't mind seeing a game against a BCS team. I'd just hope we could keep it respectable and not get blown off the field.

With Heinecke still under center, I'd feel pretty confident we could at least represent ourselves well offensively although we might end up giving up a ton of points.

That is the point of the day. 04-cheers
I would bet they would love to get the game at UCLA or Washington and use it as the reward for the season since there will be no playoffs or bowl games. It gives them a destination game.
