Well, we've only been around, what, 35 years or so? Considering there are 15 blank years, I'd consider 71 alright, though I question a couple of the teams in front of us.
Well Tulsa has had some decent history. Houston was alright at one point as well and UTEP has won a national title.
Come on UAB, you gotta keep up with other new schools like UNLV. You should be ashamed of how little you've accomplished in 33 years considering it's more than many schools will ever accomplish. 05-stirthepot
I seem to recall a similar ranking of teams that had been in existence for at least X number of years with UAB being the only team to average 20 wins during its lifetime.
I thought our ranking was a little low as well--even in fairly poor years we've usually had 20+ wins. I don't know that we should be Top 50, but we should be on the bubble.
I wasn't surprised that the B-East had 10 teams in the Top 50, but I was surprised that the SEC had more Top 50 than the ACC.
I would have thought UAB would be ranked a lil higher but im biased to say the least.
I assume UAB's ranking factors in that we were non-existent for 17 of those 50 years.

+1

It is pure math so little bias but it is over the last fifty years so that hurts us. But a few factors did not come into effect until affter we did.

The main factor is NCAA appearances with emphasis in final eight appearance(s). In another post consistentcy is needed to be at the top

Here are factors
